now I am editorial board member in one of my favourite journals (Journal of Multicultural Discourses). What is more, there are two Hungarians in the board, who can spot them?
Hi, anyone has a connection with any Paris-based university? I apply for a fellowship and need an invitation letter to any Parisian uni. The host doesnt need to support financially, the fellowship covers everything. Thanks for sharing, too! 🥰
Hungary is ranked first in Sci&Tech according to The Good Country Index, that looks at the contribution of the scientific community compared to the size of the economy, which is really very high, considering that salaries are really negligible compared to the Global North.
For us, Hungarian researchers, this result is quite bittersweet. I would say:
“do you want excellent results with minimal investment? Invest in Hungarian researchers!”

very important trends that would definitly influence global science production
I study academic knowledge production for 5+ years now, published 70+ academic papers and a monograph on this issue , so when I think that, with ANECA reforms, Madrid is the center of the fckng world, maybe I'm right. I feel lucky, because it is my favourite place as well :)
is the so-called qualitative research evaluation better than scientometric evaluation? Our newest study found that this is not the case, and a significant amount of research fund goes to unfertile projects. See comments for a more detailed story

Taken together, these two results suggest that subjective evaluation neglecting preliminary scientific achievements is likely to lead to poor decisions, supporting less productive and less impactful researchers.
Contrary to expectations, prestigious scholarships awarded based on qualitative assessment, ignoring preliminary results, rarely lead to the enhanced performance of the supported researcher. In fact, the performance of these researchers tends to decline.
Hi Spanish friends, is there an official ANECA statement regarding unsubscribing from Scopus and WoS? I could not find it on ANECAweb, and it seems the accreditation still uses JCR and Scopus quartiles. @ManuGoyanes@beatrizjorda13@mmc_campos
