This aged well ......
I see Sunderland are getting a first hand experience of how the modern transfer market works over Granit Xhaka. Player hasnโt had to say anything, the work is done for him to the point where he will apparently accept any contract to get a move to Chelsea.
They can expect there to be more of it to come with other players this summer because they had such a great season. They will be harvested by the machine #safc

๐จ ๐๐ซ๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐: The Malick Fofana transfer saga.
๐ธ The Lyon winger was the subject of late interest from Andrea Berta and Arsenal yesterday but they opted not to pay the ยฃ30M asking price.
๐ธ Sunderland swooped in today and agreed a package of ยฃ30M, with Fofana set to sign a 5-year contract. A medical was booked.
๐ธ Crystal Palace then gazumped Sunderland's fee and offered ยฃ33.5M - this bid was accepted by Lyon.
๐ธ The player and his team had two private jets booked - one to London, one to Newcastle (near Sunderland).
๐ธ Fofana opted to fly to London instead of the North of England to complete the move to Palace.
๐ธ Sunderland then matched Crystal Palace's bid and offered a better commission to Fofana's agents - which the player and his representatives gladly accepted.
๐ธ Crystal Palace were left in the dark regarding the playerโs whereabouts as he boarded a flight from Lyon to the North East to complete the transfer.
๐ธ Fofana will join Sunderland for a total package of ยฃ33.5M and his agents are getting a fat pay cheque.
