If the US started a program of directly financially rewarding poorer countries for free elections and civil liberties, the domestic left would lose their fucking minds about it.
for this to ever revert in any meaningful way, whoever rules the united states next will have to act the same. you cannot do business as normal. the sad reality is the democratic party will never be this aggressive in the way needed stop fascism in the world
