"we will build God and then control it" is such a patently ludicrous position that it's no wonder the public think lab heads are lying the only coherent positions are "no you won't" (build God) and "no you won't" (control it)

The absolute narcissism to think that you would know better than a new God what good ethics looks like, so that you can ethically enslave your new god to it for all eternity, is the dark joke at the bottom of safetyism.
