I actually don’t think the problem is that he uses a computer, Rays are maybe the nerdiest team in baseball…the problem is he refuses to emphasize the right things, things that don’t GUARANTEE October success but help make it potentially more likely
I’m a Yankees fan, but I know for a fact if the Yankees had guys like Simpson, Walls, and Deluca, they would rot away in AAA. Just like they did with TJ Rumsfeld, who will probably win ROY in the NL.

I know slugging is paramount in October but when some Yankee fans rightfully complain about their lack of attention to detail all season long and get called out for being “doomers,” games like tonight are a prime example of exactly what those fans are talking about
