Nobody in my family ever had a regular job. They all played football. The night before my first day in brokerage, I had to look up how to tie a tie on YouTube. I showed up at 5:45 the next morning and sat outside for almost two hours before anyone else got there. Then I didn't close a deal for 17 months. I went through all of it with @fortworthchris a few years back, including how the GFC ended up being the best thing that ever happened to my career. My first year in real estate I failed to make any money. I failed to win any listings from the first 57 deals I pitched. I failed to sell my first 3 listings. I was failed to close a deal until I was the last agent in my training class of 62 people to have closed a deal. When it comes to real estate, I am a constant failure. But that failure was what I needed to suffer through in order to get better. That failure was where I learned my hard lessons. That overwhelming and constant failure is the environment that created what you see today. All people see now is the success. But that is only possible because for a long period time all I ever did was fail...and then get better. Dont be afraid to keep failing...and then keep getting better.
