Introducing: MCP writes in Basedash.
From Cursor, Claude, or any MCP client, ask for a chart or a whole dashboard. Basedash explores the schema, writes and validates the SQL, picks the visualization, and lays it out.
The result comes back as a real Basedash chart with a durable link and a rendered image, so you can keep iterating in the IDE or share it with the team.

Excellent post. Would add that vendors can turn this into a GTM opportunity by sharing some of these cost savings with their customers, which we certainly do at @Basedash.
The better the harness, the better the business.

#1 is the only viable path forward
At @Basedash we don’t care how you use our product. We have users who exclusively use us through the API, or MCP, or even just Slack.
As long as you’re getting value we’re happy.
My rough prediction here is there's going to be two types of companies:
1. Companies that are ok with basically being an API - they expose an MCP, skills, embrace your agents
2. Companies that charge a ton for API access, try to get you using their own agents,
Companies will gravitate to #2 because being API only is scary / feels very replaceable opening opportunities for #1 companies to replace them because they're more agent native
I don't have a good answer for what the moat is for #1 companies but it's how I want to be using software

Using Grok @bot for the past couple days made me realize how painful most other software is. It's so much easier to chat with an agent to do work instead of doing it yourself.
