Bitcoin
For over a decade, I have lived and breathed Bitcoin—not as an investment, not as a trade, but as a way of life. I watched the hard forks, the ego trippers, the cash grabs, the opportunists who tried to mold Bitcoin into something it was never meant to be. I watched people chase power, creating their own chains, their own systems, always believing they could do better—yet always falling into the same traps that led to the 2008 collapse in the first place. They never learned. Because they never let go of ego. Bitcoin was born, like Occupy Wall Street, from the ashes of a financial system built on corruption and manipulation. It was never meant to be a tool for the same forces that enslaved us in the first place. It was a revolution, a quiet, unstoppable revolution, built by those who were willing to risk everything to see a new world emerge. To truly live on a Bitcoin standard, to have all your savings in Bitcoin, to relinquish all external income, is to undergo ego death. You no longer think in fiat terms. You no longer chase short-term wins. You are forced to think in decades, in centuries. You see through the noise, the distractions, the shiny new coins and chains that promise easy gains but only lead back to the same system we were trying to escape. Integrity is everything. If you bend the knee to easy money, to shortcuts, to short-term glory over long-term truth, you were never really here for the revolution. Bitcoin requires no leaders, no idols, no egos. It only requires conviction. Hold the line. Stay the course. The system will fall. And when it does, only those who held firm will build what comes next.
We had a good thing, you stupid son of a bitch! We had the chance to slash the state, to build something real. And it was working! You could've stayed the course, wielded your chainsaw and made history. But no! You just had to shill a Solana rugpull. You and your pride and your ego!

I miss when you could buy software on a CD and own it. Imagine paying once and getting to use the thing forever. Absolutely insane concept apparently.

The Fed and banks create new money and hand it to borrowers first. By the time that money reaches your paycheck or savings account, prices have already adjusted upward. You paid the inflation tax. The banks booked the gains. Richard Cantillon identified this mechanism in the 1730s. New money does not spread evenly across an economy like water filling a bathtub. It flows through specific channels, enriching whoever receives it first before prices rise, then destroying purchasing power for everyone downstream. Look at post-2008 numbers. The Federal Reserve expanded its balance sheet from roughly $900 billion in 2008 to $4.5 trillion by 2015. The S&P 500 tripled. Real wages for median workers barely moved. Wall Street firms and Treasury-connected primary dealers received the new money at near-zero rates, bought assets, and watched those assets inflate in price. Your grocery bill followed later. The Federal Reserve acts as a wealth-transfer mechanism, supposedly creating stability and employment. This is a political outcome, not a market outcome. Governments grant the Fed its monopoly on money creation. Political connections determine who borrows first, cheapest, and largest. The system produces inequality by design, then politicians blame the market for the results.

🚨 EVERY COUNTRY IS LOSING CONTROL OF ITS BOND MARKET. Japan’s 2-year yield just hit a new 31-year high. The 5-year yield just hit a new 31-year high. The 10-year yield just hit a new 30-year high. For one of the most indebted economies in the world, this is very dangerous.

And they’ll start WW3 just to distract everyone.
Unbelievable. 3 hours later and the 10Y Note Yield is now above 5.20% for the first time in 19 years. The 10Y Note Yield is now up +50 basis points in 30 days and +30 basis points in 2 days. Even more remarkable is that the average American has no idea this is happening. Yet. The bond market is imploding in front of our eyes.

We brought over 2000 bitcoin only articles to this conference. Talked with bitcoiners from 8AM until midnight. Mostly builders. It was a blast.

The US 10Y Note Yield is now moving in a literal straight-line higher, up to 5.13%. This is no longer an issue that we have months or years to address. This is unsustainable.

Core contributors have told me that Bitcoin Commons would be good for QA but never a viable alternative node. I'm going to prove them wrong.

Few people know the Noderunners conference was totally driven by volunteers. Literally no one made any money except for their sales or services from people who wanted to transact. Bringing bitcoiners together is what we are about, not making money of bitcoiners. FEW

There has been some discussion recently about the appropriate way to fund open source work. The debate usually lands on donations versus commercial models. That is the wrong frame. Every funding model creates an accountability relationship. Grants make developers accountable to funders. Number go up makes them accountable to market cycles. Outside businesses split their attention and make them accountable to clients. Employer funding makes them accountable to whoever signs the checks. None of these are primarily the users running the software. This matters more for Bitcoin than for almost any other open source project because the software is monetary infrastructure. The people maintaining it are not accountable to the people depending on it. Strings are always attached, even when no strings are promised. The fix is not to find better donors or cleaner grant structures. The fix is to shorten the distance between who pays and who benefits. There is no single solution to this. The right stack is plural. But every mechanism needs to answer two questions: who decides the work is done, and what are the criteria. Non-custodial escrow with independent keyholders and published release criteria makes both answers public and hard to quietly rewrite. Bounties and donation campaigns, all non-custodial. Independent keyholders across different countries, no shared employer, no custody of the funds. That is what we are building at @JoinPlebly.
