League City is an amazing place to raise a family, build a career, and enjoy life. During my time on City Council, I’ve always worked to protect the small-town, community-oriented charm that makes League City such a special place to call home. Our parks system continues to grow, with more recreation amenities on the way. We’re also managing growth responsibly and making important investments in public works, roads, and drainage infrastructure to keep our community moving forward. I’m proud to call League City my hometown, and I know our community’s future is incredibly bright.

Last week, the City learned that the grant funding for the senior meals program at Hometown Heroes Park would not be renewed. This left us with very little time to find an alternative source of funding to keep this important program going. I’m pleased to share that we have identified funding for FY2027 and are working with Galveston County to ensure the service continues. There will be no interruption in services. Over the coming year, we will also work to establish a permanent funding source so this vital program can continue into the future. I’m thankful for the hard work of our staff and grateful for the partnership with Galveston County in making sure this important service remains available to our League City seniors.

We recently adopted the League City FY2027 budget, delivering the 12th straight tax cut below the No-New-Revenue Rate. Since I joined City Council, we’ve reduced the tax rate by 40.2%. At the same time, we’re making significant investments in public safety, parks, public works, drainage, transportation, and our city’s future. This budget reflects what I believe in: fiscal responsibility, strong city services, and putting taxpayers first. Always.

Met with the citizens in the Oaks of Clear Creek to explain the new detention pond and walking trail project. The pond will deliver crucial detention to a subdivision that was hit hard during Harvey. The walking trail will add an amenity to the subdivision, tie Oaks of Clear Creek to the library/pool and give our Police Officers an area to walk on their breaks. Construction is already underway!

I had the honor of presenting before the Galveston County Commissioners Court this morning regarding a proposal to partner with the County on the transfer of stewardship of Walter Hall Park to League City. The proposal includes an initial $4 million investment, with additional phases planned in the future. This partnership is an opportunity to make significant improvements to Walter Hall Park while being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars. League City has dedicated funding sources for parks and recreation, allowing us to invest in this important community asset without relying on the County’s property tax dollars, funds that can instead remain available for critical priorities like law enforcement and other essential County services. We’ve seen the success of this approach through our partnership with the County at Lobit Park, which has been a tremendous success. I look forward to continuing to work with County Judge Mark Henry and the Commissioners as we move this important project forward and make Walter Hall Park an even greater asset for our community!

My son got me up early to help set up his Club America 9/11 Prayer Group. The idea is high school kids meet at the flagpole at city hall, have a quick bible study, prayer, then donuts and fellowship to start Saturday.

Our Community Carnival was a big success and we raised over $2,100 to support the League City Animal Shelter’s No Kill mission. Thrilled that we could help out!

As we near the anniversary of 9/11, we gather to remember those first responders that made the ultimate sacrifice. The LCVFD organizes a annual stair climb. We had a great turnout comprising of firefighters from throughout the area and various local service organizations. I regret to admit that my son completed the climb before me.

Hope to see you out at my Community Carnival tomorrow. The event is totally free but we will be raising money for the LC Animal Shelter. We did this a few years ago and helped fund all the little extras at the Dog Park. I’m hoping we can top that this year!

I’ve had the privilege of working alongside so many incredible leaders, community advocates, and residents across League City. To have the support of the League City Council, as well as our distinguished former mayors, means so much to me and is something I will never take lightly. I am deeply grateful to everyone who has placed that trust in me and in my campaign. I will work tirelessly to be worthy of your support, and together we will continue moving League City forward. League City’s bond ratings were recently affirmed by Moody’s Ratings (Aa1, stable) and S&P Global Ratings (AA+, stable), reaffirming the strength and stability of our city’s finances. Both agencies cited our conservative budgeting, disciplined reserve management, and continued growth of our tax base as key factors behind these strong ratings. Since joining City Council, I’ve worked hard to keep our fiscal house in order while also leading the charge to cut taxes for League City families and businesses. These ratings are a reflection of the policy choices we’ve made and the hard work that has gone into building a strong financial foundation for our community. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made, but we must keep moving forward. We can continue cutting taxes, investing in the infrastructure our growing community needs, and planning responsibly for League City’s future, all while maintaining the strong financial position our residents expect from us.

Since I joined the League City Council in 2014, we have put taxpayers first while keeping League City one of the best places to live, work, and raise a family. We’ve cut the property tax rate by 38%, adopted rates below the No-New-Revenue Rate, and delivered the highest homestead exemption in Texas for seniors and disabled veterans. We’ve also increased first responders by 30% and invested more than $200 million in roads, drainage, and water infrastructure, without shifting the burden of growth onto existing taxpayers. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, but there is more work to do. With your support, I’ll keep putting taxpayers first and moving League City forward.

I am glad to see the Clear Creek Village finally moving forward. Soon they will start construction on the long awaited sound wall which should bring some relief to the neighborhood. Thank you to the neighborhood activists, Councilman Tommy Cones, and Senator @mayes_middleton for diligently working with me on this project for the past couple of years.

It was a pleasure to speak at the annual Onam celebration hosted by the Malayalee Samajam of League City (MSOLC). Onam is a wonderful celebration of unity, prosperity, and community. Thank you to MSOLC for the invitation and for putting together such a great event!

Mayor Pat (and Janice) are the City’s biggest cheerleaders and have fought to preserve League City’s small town charm despite our rapid growth. I served on Council under Mayor Pat and we may not have always agreed but our ability to work together led to better outcomes. When I inherited the City it was in spectacular shape and I tried to carry on Mayor Pat’s legacy of being League City Proud and working collaboratively with the Council for the betterment of the City. I am proud to have Mayor Hallisey's endorsement and to carry on his legacy.

The City Council approved my proposal to put a Flock camera referendum on the November ballot. If the voters approve the measure, we will keep the cameras and improve data security and privacy by creating a Citizen Accountability Commission. This Commission will audit data access and create privacy policies to protect citizen data. If the measure fails, we will remove the cameras. I think this is a great issue to take directly to the voters.
