Critics should take heed, the revered title of the 'Giant of Africa' wasn't bestowed upon Nigeria for nothing. Yes it is true that Nigeria is in trying times, it's nothing new, as all nations of the world do go through dark times, but then, the naysayers should beware, and be told that Nigeria is on the path to a major economic breakthrough, to bouncing back even stronger and wearing the title of the giant once again with pride.

Emefiele:  Finance Ministry Unaware of N124.86bn CBN Withdrawal,   Witness Tells Court   A Director in the Federal Ministry of Finance, Ali Mohammed, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, told the Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, that the Ministry was not aware of the withdrawal of N124.86 billion from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.   Mohammed, who testified as the prosecution witness 10, PW10, in the ongoing trial of the former CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, disclosed this while being led in evidence by the prosecution counsel, Abbas Mohammed.   The witness said he appeared before the court because his Ministry received a letter from the investigation team concerning N154 billion said to have been withdrawn by the CBN.   Explaining his position and responsibilities in the Ministry, Mohammed said, “My Lord, the Department of Home Finance is made up of three functions based in three divisions, that is State and Public Finance, Trade Division and Banking and Other Financial Institutions. The three divisions are under me.”   He further explained that, upon receiving the letter from the investigator, he contacted the three divisions under his supervision to ascertain whether they were aware of the transaction.   According to him, none of the three divisions was privy to the transaction.   He said the State and Public Finance Investment Division was the relevant division because it oversees the CBN.   Asked what action he took after making the inquiries, Mohammed said, as a civil servant, the Minister of Finance does not pay money directly to individuals or organisations.   He said he was therefore required to write a letter through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance to the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, OAGF, to ascertain whether the office was aware of the transaction, being the custodian of payments for the Federal Government.   The witness told the court that the OAGF responded in writing that it was not aware of the transaction and concluded that the money was a direct credit from the CBN.   Speaking on why he wrote the OAGF, Mohammed said it was the appropriate office to approach and that he relied on the response from the Accountant-General before responding to the Special Investigator. “I responded via a memo of what has transpired between my office and that of the AGF and sought for clearance for such document to be forwarded to the Special Investigator. Subsequently, the letter was forwarded,” he said.   He said the documents forwarded to the Special Investigator included a letter bearing the logo of the Federal Ministry of Finance, which he signed, as well as an attached letter signed by the Accountant-General of the Federation.   The witness identified the documents when they were shown to him in court and the prosecution subsequently sought to tender them in evidence.   Asked about the whereabouts of the originals, Mohammed said they had been forwarded to the Special Investigator.    He therefore sought to tender certified true copies of the documents.   Defence counsel, Olalekan Ojo, SAN, said he had no objection.   Consequently, Justice Maryanne Anineh admitted and marked the documents as Exhibits AJ, AK and AL.   While examining the exhibits, the prosecution asked the witness to explain the purpose of Exhibit AJ.   Mohammed said the import of the document was that the withdrawal of N124.86 billion was not known to the Federal Ministry of Finance. He explained that he relied on the letter forwarded to the Ministry by the Accountant-General before signing the document.   On Exhibit AL, the witness said it was a confirmation from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation that it was not aware of the transaction involving N124.86 billion.

President Tinubu’s reforms are reaching Nigerians, young and old. Our parents are smiling all the way to the bank: the Federal Government has cleared inherited pension liabilities dating back to 2007, and 957,045 beneficiaries across sectors have just been paid after years of arrears left by previous administrations. Nigeria is working. PBAT till 2031.

Silence in a meeting is not one thing. It has two owners. One silence is empty. The man has nothing ready, or he is afraid the room will turn on him. He waits for a stronger voice to finish, then he agrees. That silence runs on fear. It is cheap, and it teaches the others they can speak for him. Useful for surviving the hour. Poor at keeping anything. The other silence already has the decision. He does not need to argue, because the argument is for people still trying to arrive. He lets them spend their words. When he does speak, it is short, and the room adjusts. This silence does not shout. It withholds, and the withholding is the power. Empty silence used to cover weakness is retreat. Held silence used to let the others talk themselves into his conclusion is control. You will sit in both. The question is which silence the room is hearing.

On behalf of the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and on my own behalf, I extend warm and fraternal congratulations to His Excellency Shri Narendra Modi @narendramodi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India, on a truly historic milestone. Today, 7 October 2026, marks 25 years since he first assumed office in 2001 as Head of Government and Chief Minister of Gujarat. His public service has continued without interruption. After more than twelve years serving the people of Gujarat, he has remained Prime Minister of the Republic of India since 2014. A quarter-century of unbroken leadership is a rare achievement in any democracy. In the world's most populous nation, it is a powerful testament to the enduring confidence the Indian people have placed in him. Across these 25 years, Prime Minister Modi has led with vision and an unwavering commitment to development. From the transformation of Gujarat to India's emergence as one of the world's largest and fastest-growing economies, his leadership in infrastructure, digital public goods, financial inclusion and innovation has lifted millions and inspired nations across the Global South. Nigeria deeply values the strategic partnership between our two great nations. I fondly recall the Prime Minister's historic State Visit to Abuja in November 2024, when Nigeria honoured him with the title of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger. That visit gave fresh impetus to our cooperation in trade and investment, energy, defence and security, health, education, and technology. As fellow democracies and leading voices of the Global South, Nigeria and India share a common commitment to a fairer, more inclusive and more representative international order. I remain confident that, under his continued leadership, the bonds of friendship between our peoples will grow ever stronger. As Prime Minister Modi marks this remarkable anniversary, I wish him good health, continued strength and every success in the service of the people of India. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria Abuja, 7 October 2026

The same Obi that asked his successor to steal Anambra's money and give to him? The one that built Next supermarket when he was still Gov? The one that opened an investment in tax haven using his daughter's name?
When I watched and listened to Asari’s video yesterday concerning who get paid trillions for oil, It dawned on me that some elements are desperate to have Tinubu in power more than Tinubu himself. These guys are the ones fighting Obi because if Obi wins - they will go broke and possibly go to Prison.
