🌱How do you turn a climate plan into a reality? All CoM SSA signatories commit to developing a Sustainable Energy Access and Climate Action Plan (SEACAP). But a #climateactionplan only delivers impact when its priorities are reflected in budgets, institutions, projects and investments. 📑A SEACAP is therefore not the end of the journey: it provides the evidence base and strategic direction for implementation. This week we will share replicable approaches from our signatories who are turning their climate plans into actions. Starting with the Nakuru County Government - Official. By institutionalising priority actions from its SEACAP, Nakuru County has allocated and mobilised its own resources for implementation, complemented by external support, including financing secured through #Kenya’s Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (#FLLoCA) programme. Through these broad implementation efforts, the County has advanced projects including ecosystem restoration, energy-efficiency measures and the installation of smart energy meters in county facilities. 💬These insights were shared during our recent peer-to-peer exchange webinar.
