Well said ! 🙏🏼
Finally some sense.
But if India’s best IIT really wants to bring an end to this cycle of tragedies, they must push for an unbiased inquiry into every case in the last decade (three cases already in 2026) and bring systemic changes - both mental-health and caste-oppression awareness to be taken seriously and as ongoing programs, rather than the arrogant, outright denial about them.
There’s an angry influential mob (clearly fanned by the provocative first statement put out by the Institute) already asking for caste-based segregation and untouchability to be brought back. The IITs (of which am an alumnus), founded on the ideals of modernism and rational thinking, must bring an end to this horrible right-wing language of apartheid by doing serious self-reflection.
If any institution in India can do it, it’s you @iitbombay.
