Yet another outright lie from the mouthpiece of Jamaat e Islami. A manifestation of classic disinformation campaign against Awami League on behalf of militants. While now it is proved Jamaat and its political allies attacked hundreds of police stations looted arms killed police provided snipers to kill students unleashed mob rule and released convicted terrorists from jail, now they are trying to accuse Awami League of the horrendous crimes they have committed. To cover up its masters planned destruction of Bangladesh with terror Amar Desh now seeks to vilify Awami League. The striking silence from Amar Desh on issues affecting public lives including unemployment manufactured measles outbreak poverty and ongoing curb on women empowerment among others prove the outlet does not stand in favour of mass people, rather works a puppet to lend credence to political disinformation. #Bangladesh #BangladeshCrisis #FakeNews

Bangamata Begum Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib never stood behind history—she helped shape it. When uncertainty gripped the nation, she offered clarity. When compromise threatened Bangladesh's future, she stood firm. It was her resolve that rejected Bangabandhu's parole, her conviction that strengthened the pursuit of independence, and her wisdom that inspired him to speak from the heart in the immortal 7th March speech. She sought neither applause nor recognition. She chose sacrifice over comfort, courage over fear, and the nation over herself. Her unwavering strength became one of the silent pillars behind Bangladesh's struggle for freedom. History remembers Bangabandhu as the Father of the Nation. It also remembers Bangamata as the quiet force whose courage, foresight, and sacrifice helped turn the dream of an independent Bangladesh into reality. Her legacy continues to inspire generations. 👉albd.org/articles/news/34388… #Bangladesh #15thAugust #DarkAugust #BirthAnniversary

We are not against justice. Justice must be served, but not in a manner that serves only a particular, one-sided narrative instead of seeking the truth. This is what is happening at the International Crimes Tribunal in Bangladesh. The tribunal is biased, politically motivated, and seemingly intended to establish a narrative that is far removed from reality.
Prosecutors at Sheikh Hasina’s ICT Trial ‘Desperately Attempted to Cement a Very One-Sided Narrative’ - Political and Legal Analyst @rayhanrashid Speaks to RT India ‘First the interim govt, then the BNP govt, they actually issued a blanket indemnity to one side of the conflict.  So, the moment you give blanket indemnity to one side of the conflict, you actually stop truth to emerge.’

Message from Sheikh Hasina, President of the Bangladesh Awami League, on the Occasion of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib's Birthday August 8 marks the birthday of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib. On this day, I remember with profound respect a woman who worked tirelessly and selflessly for her country and its people. She was a constant source of support and inspiration in the political, social, and family life of the Father of the Nation. A remarkable woman, Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib was a trusted and steadfast companion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the struggle for the rights of the Bengali people and a fellow fighter in Bangladesh's liberation movement. She possessed extraordinary wisdom, courage, resilience, determination, and foresight, and devoted her life to the service of the nation. She shared the same dream of an independent Bangladesh alongside the Father of the Nation. She envisioned a country where people could live with dignity and prosperity, and remained vigilant and farsighted throughout the struggle for the rights of the Bengali people. Although she fulfilled the responsibilities of a devoted wife and mother like any ordinary Bengali woman, she also played an extraordinary role in Bangladesh's historic struggle, the Liberation War, and the reconstruction of the country after independence. Bangamata also made significant contributions to Bangabandhu's political success. As the Father of the Nation was frequently imprisoned for political reasons, she remained steadfast like a mountain through those difficult years. She played a vital role in securing his release and supporting the leadership of the Awami League while simultaneously caring for the family, raising and educating their children, and providing Bangabandhu with the strength, courage, and inspiration needed to guide the struggle for freedom and independence toward its rightful goal. She played an important role during the Six-Point and Eleven-Point movements. During the 1971 Liberation War, while confined to her home by the Pakistani occupation forces and facing deep uncertainty over the life and fate of her imprisoned husband in Pakistan, she confronted every challenge with immense patience, courage, and wisdom. Her contribution to Bangladesh's independence and liberation struggle will remain forever etched in the nation's history. After independence, she dedicated herself alongside Bangabandhu to rebuilding a war-ravaged country. She devoted particular attention to supporting the mothers and sisters who had suffered during the war, arranging medical care, personally comforting them, and working to help restore their dignity and place in society. Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib carried out state protocol responsibilities and other official duties with equal dedication and exceptional competence. In recognition of her immense sacrifices, unwavering support, and wisdom in the service of the nation, the people rightfully honored her with the title "Bangamata" (Mother of Bengal). On 15 August 1975, she, along with the Father of the Nation and most members of their family, was brutally assassinated by the perpetrators of one of the darkest chapters in the nation's history. The ideals and example set by Bangamata will continue to inspire generations of Bengali women. I hope that studying the life of Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib will inspire the younger generation with patriotism and help them better understand many lesser-known chapters of Bangabandhu's life, the movement for Bengali self-determination, the Liberation War, and Bangladesh's struggle for independence. I pray for the eternal peace and forgiveness of the soul of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib. Joy Bangla. Joy Bangabandhu. May Bangladesh live forever. #Bangladesh #AwamiLeague #SheikhHasina

Families Allege Political Detainees Denied Food and Safe Drinking Water at Bangladesh High-Security Prison Fresh allegations of serious human rights abuses have emerged from Kashimpur High Security Central Jail (Part-4) in Gazipur, where families and former inmates claim that political detainees linked to the Awami League were deliberately deprived of food and access to safe drinking water following a virtual address by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. According to accounts from prison sources and former detainees, punitive measures are allegedly imposed whenever Sheikh Hasina delivers a public statement. They claim that political prisoners are subjected to collective punishment, including the suspension of regular meal distribution and restrictions on access to essential services. Relatives of detainees say inmates spent much of the day without food after Wednesday’s speech. Former prisoners further allege that those attempting to purchase food from the prison canteen with their own money faced repeated obstacles. One former detainee also alleged that prisoners were, at times, forced to drink water from washroom facilities instead of being provided with safe drinking water, describing the practice as degrading and incompatible with basic standards of humane treatment. If verified, such allegations could amount to violations of internationally recognized human rights standards, including the UN Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners (the Nelson Mandela Rules), which require that prisoners receive adequate food, clean drinking water, and be treated with dignity, without discrimination or collective punishment. Human rights advocates have long maintained that all detainees, regardless of their political affiliation or the charges they face, are entitled to fundamental protections under both domestic law and international human rights norms. Families of those detained have called for an independent investigation into the allegations and urged the authorities to ensure that all prisoners are provided with adequate food, safe drinking water, medical care, and protection from abuse. They have also appealed for independent monitoring of detention conditions to determine whether the reported practices are occurring and to hold those responsible accountable if the allegations are substantiated. #Bangladesh #HumanRights

A glimpse into ongoing state sponsored murderous scheme to exterminate Awami League Party leaders were handcuffed inside ICU before death ; No human rights, no accountability, prisons turned to death cells In the run up to the press conference of Honourable President Sheikh Hasina, the ongoing state sponsored genocidal campaign targeting party activists has been further intensified using state apparatus. As cops arbitrarily detained and imprisoned him for 11 months in custody amid denial of bail and treatment, former vice-chairman of Patuakhali Sadar Upazila Parishad and district Awami League member Mizanur Rahman, passed away in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Even as part of the inhumane torture the Awami League leader was hand- cuffed inside ICU before his death. Yet the so called democratic regime seeks to indemnify these custodial deaths. #Bangladesh #HumanRights #JailKilling

🏏 From National Hero to Political Target? Former Bangladesh cricket captain Shakib Al Hasan's ancestral home in Magura was attacked just hours after he participated in a virtual media event featuring former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Attackers smashed windows and threw petrol bombs, setting part of the unoccupied house on fire. The incident has once again highlighted the deep political polarization in Bangladesh and raised concerns about whether political differences are increasingly being expressed through violence. Violence against people or property because of political affiliation undermines democratic values, regardless of who the target is. #Bangladesh #ShakibAlHasan #Politics #Democracy #RuleOfLaw reuters.com/business/media-t…

In a written response to @Bloomberg, Sheikh Hasina says she is ready to return to Bangladesh despite a death sentence, insisting that "duty" to the people outweighs personal safety. Rejecting the politically motivated charges by the Yunus regime and BNP govt, she says neither death threats nor legal cases will deter her from standing with the people of Bangladesh. She has vowed to return this December, saying her decision is driven not by political ambition, but by a sense of responsibility to a nation she believes is facing deep economic and democratic challenges. "I know anything can happen to me, but Bangladesh needs reconciliation." For her, the path home may carry immense personal risk—but she says some duties are greater than fear. 👉bloomberg.com/news/articles/… #SheikhHasina #Bangladesh

Jessore’s five-star Zabeer International Hotel was reduced to ashes on August 5 after being looted and set ablaze. The fire claimed 24 lives, including a foreign national, and destroyed one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. Two years later, the questions remain: What did August 5 ultimately achieve? Did it bring progress, or did it leave behind a legacy of violence, loss, and destruction? History will be judged by facts - and by conscience. #Bangladesh #5August #BangladeshCrisis
