I am truly saddened to learn of the passing of Chief Raph Obioha, Ọkpụrụisizuruọha II of Arondizuogu. We lost an outstanding man of deep conviction & a true leader for all times. Ọkpụrụisi was probably the most sacrificial & under-rated of those who sacrificed to return #Nigeria to civil rule. He suffered exile, suffered exclusions, survived attempts on his life, lost assets. But he remained undeterred. Ọkpụrụisi was a man with few needs. He had excellent pedigree & could have made different choices for more money & more earthly rewards ic he wanted to. His commitment to an egalitarian society founded on genuine democratice legitimacy was clear-eyed & life-long. It was not negotiable. It can sound hackneyed but Ọkpụrụisi's passing leaves a cast vacuum. It may sound belated but I hope that the slights & injustices visited on him in his lifetime can still be redressed as the country comes to terms with his transition into immortality. May the soul of Ọkpụrụisizuruọha rest in peace & mercy.🙏🙏🙏
