A fully matched unrelated donor is found for about 79% of white patients. For Black patients it is about 29%. I never found mine. A Phase 1 trial in 1998 is why I am still here. The registry gap did not close because I got lucky. It closes when more people swab and when mismatched-donor protocols actually get used.
