We took that pain and turned it into a beacon of light hope and beauty
An institution that can stand over the next 1000 years
Not to just put art on Bitcoin, but to preserve the human story on the most permanent ledger humanity ever created
Because civilizations survive from the stories they protect
Art is memory
Bitcoin is permanence
Together , no explosion war or history can erase.

THE ART WE COULD NOT SAVE
On September 2, 2018, a fire spread through the National Museum of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.
Founded in 1818, the institution held one of the most significant collections of natural history and cultural heritage in Latin America.
Its archives contained millions of objects: archaeological artifacts, scientific specimens, ethnographic materials, documents, and works of historical importance.
In a matter of hours, much of this accumulated knowledge was lost.
The museumβs collection represented more than objects. It embodied centuries of research, classification, and cultural memory.
The building could not preserve what it held.
Bitcoin cannot stop a fire. But it can give art, provenance, and cultural memory a permanent home.
Bitcoin Art Society exists to make sure the art of our time is not left as vulnerable as the art we could not save.

Code is Art & Art is Code
In most generative art, particles are abstract geometric primitives: dots, lines, circles.
In Code Is Art, every single entity in the system is a character. Letters, symbols, and fragments of syntax drift through space, assembling themselves into shapes through vertex shader algorithms.
But that's not all.
The lines of text in the background are not decorative. They are actual lines from the project's source code, rendered as part of the visual layer. The viewer isn't just looking at the artwork but they're also looking at the instructions that created it.

Did you mint the Mosaic?
On-chain generative art is picking up again. Minted the Mosaic by @BitArt21.
The size of each Mosaic piece (in pixels) is determined by the amount of sats (BTC) the minter sends, and the seeds of the art are the specific sat numbers in the mint transaction.
Two mints with different amounts of sats, and the distribution of sats sent so far in the 224 mints.
