IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DO SOMETHING, TEACH ANOTHER GUY One of the reasons this channel exists is to help men become better. And I do that by sharing my wisdom, sharing my experience and that’s what I want to talk about with you today Because at some point in your life some guy probably taught you how to do something. Maybe your dad showed you how to change a tire. Your grandfather taught you how to fish. A foreman showed you how to use a tool. A coach taught you how to lift properly. A buddy showed you how to back up a trailer without destroying everybody's afternoon. Maybe it was something tiny. Maybe it changed your career. But somebody knew something and took the time to show you. That's how a lot of knowledge between men gets passed down. Not in classrooms. Not from instruction manuals. No more often than not it's two guys standing next to something while one says: “Here. Let me show you.” Then you try it. You screw it up and then he laughs at you. Then you try it again and again and sometimes yet again. But eventually you know how to do it. And then one day something interesting happens. You're the guy who knows. You're the experienced one. You're the older guy at work. You're the dad. The coach. The neighbor. You’re the guy somebody comes to and says:“How do I do this?” Don't waste that opportunity. Because knowledge that took you twenty years to acquire might save another man twenty years of figuring it out himself. Teach the younger guy how to negotiate his salary. Show him how to maintain his car. Teach him how to cook something besides food that comes with microwave instructions. Show him how to budget. How to interview. How to build something. How to handle a difficult customer. How to throw a baseball. How to sharpen a blade. How to tie the damn knot. Whatever you know. And don't make him feel stupid because he doesn't know it yet cause guess what…. You didn't know it once either. Somebody showed you. That's something men can do for each other more often. Pass it down. Because someday you're not going to be the guy standing there doing it anymore but maybe another man will be. And when somebody asks him: "Where'd you learn how to do that?" He'll point back through twenty or thirty years of his life and remember that some guy took the time to show him. That's a pretty damn good legacy. #MenNeedToBeHeard #Mentorship #MenHelpingMen #TeachTheNextGeneration #MensLife #Brotherhood #Men

ya gotta love how women will do ANYTHING to avoid answering a question. How they wallow in "history" even though much of that so called "history" they cite isn't factual. it's their eternal victim mode and why they cannot and shouldn't be taken seriously Cause they STILL claim they have less rights than men but yet they can't name one.. NOT ONE even though we can easily name a dozen they have that men don't
You’re asking what rights women lack today, but that’s not the same as asking what rights women were historically denied. Women fought for voting rights, property rights, education and equal opportunities. Many of those rights exist today because people challenged the inequality. That’s the point.

RESPONSIBILITY WITHOUT A CHOICE ISN’T EQUALITY Here's a conversation we're apparently still uncomfortable having. When an unintended pregnancy happens, we talk extensively about a woman's choices. ·      Whether she wants to become a parent. ·      Whether she's financially ready. ·      Whether this is the right time. ·      Whether having a child will interfere with her education or career. ·      Whether she feels prepared for eighteen years of responsibility. Those are enormous questions and fair ones. Understandably so. But there's another person whose life may also change permanently… The father. And strangely we don't spend nearly as much time asking whether he was ready to become a parent. In fact most of the time we don’t spend ANY time asking. Once conception occurs, his ability to determine whether he becomes legally and financially responsible for a child is extremely limited. All by non-existent. If she wants to continue the pregnancy and he doesn't? He still becomes responsible. If he desperately wants the child and she doesn't? He generally cannot compel her to continue the pregnancy. Now, biology creates realities no law can magically erase. Pregnancy happens inside a woman's body. That gives her decisions about her body that simply cannot be transferred to a man. Ok, fair enough. But here's where the conversation gets uncomfortable. We shouldn't pretend the outcome creates equal choices for both people. Because it doesn't. One person ends up having significantly more control over whether parenthood happens...while both may ultimately have responsibilities resulting from that decision. And yes men are allowed to talk about that. Because equality shouldn't require pretending differences don't exist. It should require us to acknowledge them honestly. Maybe there isn't a perfect legal solution. There may never be one because reproductive biology itself isn't symmetrical. But we can at least stop treating male reproductive autonomy as though it's some ridiculous concept. A man can have dreams. Financial concerns. Career plans. Fears. Goals. And feelings about becoming a father before he's ready. Those things don't become irrelevant simply because he's male. And there's another side people sometimes forget. A man can desperately want his unborn child and have virtually no ability to protect that pregnancy if the woman decides otherwise. That loss can affect him too. Again if you want to argue her body, her medical decision fine. But you also don’t get to argue that his feelings don't magically cease to exist. If we're serious about equality, we should be capable of holding two thoughts at the same time: Women  can have bodily autonomy but men have legitimate interests in reproduction and parenthood that deserve to be discussed. That conversation won't be easy. There may be answers none of us particularly like. But refusing to have it certainly isn't equality. Because you cannot demand equal responsibility from men… while pretending differences in reproductive choice don't exist. #MenNeedToBeHeard #MensIssues #ReproductiveRights #Fatherhood #MensRights #Equality #Men

STOP WAITING FOR LIFE TO SETTLE DOWN I know a lot of men have a list. I’m sure a lot of you do to. Things we're going to do...eventually. Ya know things like: ·      Take that trip. ·      Restore the old car. ·      Learn to play piano. ·      Go hunting with your buddies. ·      Get back into shape. ·      Build the workshop. ·      Take your son camping. ·      See the Grand Canyon. ·      Buy the motorcycle. Or whatever yours happens to be. And there's always a perfectly reasonable explanation for why you haven't done it yet. ·      Work is crazy. ·      Money's tight. ·      Kids are busy. ·      You've got projects around the house. ·      Maybe next summer. ·      Maybe when things calm down. Here's the problem with that… Things don't calm down. EVER! One problem gets solved and another one shows up carrying luggage. You finally finish paying for something and something else breaks. The kids get older but your parents do too. Work gets easier then somebody quits and suddenly you're doing two jobs. There's always something. And if you keep waiting until every responsibility is handled before allowing yourself to enjoy your life...well my friend, you may spend your entire life waiting. Now that doesn't mean blow your retirement account on a Lamborghini tomorrow. Responsibilities matter. Take care of your family. Pay your bills. Plan for the future. But leave some room for actually living in the present. Because there's another thing men sometimes forget. You're not guaranteed to still be physically capable of doing everything on that list someday. The mountain you want to hike at 45 may look considerably less appealing to your knees at 70. Your kids aren't going to stay 10 forever. Your buddies aren't always going to be available. And I hate to break it to you but neither are you. So maybe stop saying: “One of these days.” Pick one thing. Put a date on it. Start saving for it. Make the reservation. Call your buddies. Buy the damn guitar Because a goal without a date has an amazing ability to remain a goal for twenty years. And someday… you're going to run out of somedays. So handle your responsibilities. Build your future. But don't become so busy preparing for your life that you forget to actually live the damn thing. #MenNeedToBeHeard #MensLife #LiveYourLife #MensMotivation #NoMoreSomeday #MakeItHappen #Men

SOME FRIENDSHIPS DON'T NEED CONSTANT MAINTENANCE Let’s face it we men have some strange friendships. You can have a buddy you haven't spoken to in six months. No argument… Nobody's mad… Life just happened. ·      Work. ·      Kids. ·      Marriage. ·      Responsibilities. Next thing you know suddenly six months have gone by. Then one day your phone rings… “Hey asshole, you still alive?” And that's it. Friendship restored. No explanation required. No: "Why haven't you called?" No: "I feel like we've grown apart." No emergency friendship summit. Within thirty seconds you're making fun of each other exactly like you did fifteen years ago. And somehow...you already know the important stuff. ·      His kid started college. ·      Your daughter got married. ·      His dad isn't doing well. ·      You changed jobs. ·      He's thinking about moving. Because even though you don't talk every day...you still pay attention. That's one thing I appreciate about friendships between men because some of the strongest ones don't require constant contact.  They require reliability. You may not hear from the guy for months. But if your truck dies at midnight? He answers. If your marriage falls apart? He shows up. If your father dies? He's standing beside you. If you're moving? Well...that's where we discover the actual limits of friendship. Because nobody wants to help you move. But… We'll still do it. And yes… we're going to complain about your ridiculously heavy furniture for the next decade. That's the difference between frequency and loyalty. A friend isn't necessarily the guy who talks to you every day. Sometimes it's the guy you haven't seen since last Christmas but you know damn well that if everything went sideways tonight he'd pick up the phone. Those friendships are worth protecting. But here's the other side… Don't use that as an excuse to disappear completely. ·      Call the guy occasionally. ·      Grab breakfast. ·      Go fishing. ·      Meet for coffee. ·      Take the trip you've been talking about for six years. Because we're all getting older. And eventually...“We should get together sometime”  runs out of sometime. So think about that friend you haven't talked to lately. Send him a message. Nothing dramatic. Nothing sentimental. Keep it appropriately male. Something like: “You dead?” Trust me… He'll understand. #MenNeedToBeHeard #MaleFriendship #Brotherhood #MensLife #GoodFriends #MensSupport #Men

A FATHER IS NOT A VISITOR There's a phrase that’s used around divorced fathers that I've never particularly liked. In fact I downright despise it. That phrase…. “Visitation.” Think about that word and the connection it makes… ·      You visit a museum. ·      You visit somebody in the hospital. ·      You visit relatives over the holidays. But your children? If you're their father...you're not visiting them. You're parenting them. You're making breakfast. Helping with homework. Driving them to practice. Telling them for the sixth time to put their shoes on because apparently footwear becomes an advanced engineering problem when you're already late. You're setting rules. Teaching responsibility. Talking about what happened at school. You’re sitting beside them when they're sick. Doing laundry. Making dinner. Handling bedtime. That's not visitation… That's fatherhood. And children don't stop needing their father simply because their parents' relationship ended. Divorce changes the relationship between two adults. It shouldn't automatically reduce one parent to somebody the children only get to see occasionally. Obviously there are situations where a parent genuinely presents a danger to a child but those situations are rare. Very rare.. And in those proven case then yes we should protect the child. That's not controversial. But absent PROVEN abuse, neglect or some legitimate reason a parent shouldn't be involved...children deserve meaningful relationships with both parents. And fathers deserve the opportunity to actually parent. Not just entertain their children every other weekend. Because there's a huge difference. If Dad only gets a handful of days then inevitably there's pressure to make those days special. ·      Movies. ·      Pizza. ·      Trips. ·      Activities. But fatherhood isn't supposed to consist entirely of special occasions. Kids need the boring stuff too. They need Tuesday. Homework. Chores. Dad saying no. Dad making them clean their room. Dad teaching them how to handle disappointment. Dad simply being there when absolutely nothing interesting is happening. That's where relationships are built. A father's value isn't measured by how entertaining he can make 48 hours twice a month. It's measured over thousands of ordinary moments. And you can't replace those moments once they're gone. So when two adults decide they can no longer live together... The goal shouldn't be deciding which parent gets the children and which parent gets to visit. The goal should be preserving as much healthy parenting as reasonably possible. Because marriages can end. Relationships can fail. And adults can go separate directions. But if a man is a loving, capable father...his fatherhood didn't get divorced. #MenNeedToBeHeard #FathersRights #DadsMatter #Fatherhood #SharedParenting #FamilyCourt #MensIssues

EVERY MAN EVENTUALLY CLAIMS A CHAIR Nobody officially assigns it to you. There's no paperwork. No ceremony. There’s no deed filed with the county but one day...that chair just becomes yours. Maybe it's the recliner. Maybe it's one end of the couch. Maybe it's a particular chair on the patio. But eventually everyone in the house understands: That’s where Dad sits. And there's usually a perfectly logical reason. ·      Best view of the television. ·      Closest to the side table. ·      Perfect angle to the window. Coffee goes here. Remote goes there. Phone charger reaches perfectly. You've spent years developing this ecosystem. Then one evening you walk into the room and somebody is sitting in it. You come to a full stop. They look at you. You look at them and nobody says anything. Because everybody understands what has happened. A line has been crossed. Your kid finally asks: "What?" “Nothing.” "You want me to move?" “I didn't say anything.” And that’s because you didn't have to. You SHOULDN’T have to! You're standing six feet away staring at him like he's occupying sovereign territory. Eventually he gets up. Not because you made him but because civilization requires rules. And then there's the chair itself. It can be 15 years old. The leather is cracked. One side has permanently molded itself to your ass. The reclining mechanism requires a very specific kick. Your wife says: "We should replace that thing." Replace it?  Lady...we've been through some shit together. ·      Football seasons. ·      Sunday naps. ·      Sick days. ·      Late-night movies. ·      Kids climbing all over you. ·      Grandkids eventually doing the same. You don't simply throw away that kind of history because Pottery Barn is having a sale. Sure eventually the chair will die. Something underneath will snap. The recliner won't recline. Some structural component will finally surrender after years of service. And then and only then you'll reluctantly replace it. But the new chair? That's not your chair yet. That's just furniture. It needs time. So gentlemen...tonight when you settle into that perfectly worn-in spot...remote exactly where it belongs...drink sitting within arm's reach...feet up... take a moment to appreciate it. Because a man doesn't need a throne. Sometimes a slightly busted recliner will do just fine. #MenNeedToBeHeard #GuyStuff #DadLife #MaleHumor #MensLife #TheChair #Men

“WHY DOESN’T HE JUST LEAVE?” October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and we’re seeing post after post.  PSA after PSA telling women to leave But you know what you don’t ever see. One telling men to leave Usually followed up with the question: Well if it’s so bad why doesn’t he just leave? We hear that question often actually whenever someone stays in an abusive relationship. But when the victim is a man, there's often another question hiding underneath it. The one they don’t say but are for damn sure thinking which is: “He's a man. Why doesn't he just stop her?” Think about what we're actually suggesting. That because he's physically stronger he should use that strength against her. Except what happens when he does? She hits him. He restrains her. She gets bruised. Police arrive. Now imagine trying to explain that situation while you're twice her size. That's one reason male victims feel completely trapped. Because they KNOW what will happen. But physical violence isn't the only thing keeping someone there. Maybe she threatens to take the children. Maybe she threatens to accuse him of something. Maybe she controls the finances. Maybe she destroys his belongings. Maybe she humiliates him constantly. Maybe she threatens to hurt herself and blame him. Maybe he's been told so many times that nobody will believe him that eventually he believes that too. And sometimes he's simply ashamed. Because men grow up hearing that they're supposed to protect themselves. Handle problems. Be strong. So admitting: “I'm afraid of my wife.”… can feel humiliating. Well it shouldn't. Being physically capable of hurting someone doesn't mean you're willing to hurt them. In fact, sometimes that's exactly what makes the situation harder. He knows what could happen if he loses control. So he doesn't. He absorbs it. Walks away. Locks himself in another room. Sleeps somewhere else. He makes excuses for the bruises and tells everybody: “We're just having some problems.” None of this means every accusation of abuse is automatically true. Evidence still matters. Due process still matters or at least it’s supposed to. Those principles don't change depending on who makes the accusation. But neither should our compassion. If a woman says her partner is abusing her, we shouldn't laugh. And most people don’t But if a man says his partner is abusing him we shouldn't laugh either. And yet many people do. So what should you do if you suspect a man is getting abused well… Don't tell him to man up. Don't ask why he didn't hit her back. Don't assume he couldn't possibly be afraid because he's bigger. Help him document what's happening. Help him find appropriate professional or legal resources. Help him make a safe plan. And most importantly believe that a man can need help without ceasing to be a man. Sorry but domestic violence isn't determined by which person could bench-press the other. Abuse is abuse… And male victims deserve somewhere safe to turn too. #MenNeedToBeHeard #MaleVictims #DomesticViolence #MenMatter #MensIssues #DomesticAbuse #SupportMaleVictims
