We always assume that all the material troubles of wetlab research are magically solved when someone says "fully automated lab". I wonder how many will compromise experimental breadth and depth to make it fit some overpriced robot's limited sandbox of techniques.
Automating experiments with AI is going to be really hard because automation is way less about high-dimensional Bayesian optimization than it is about figuring out why there are bubbles in your syringe pump line
