At a panel this morning at Trib Fest in Austin, Republican state rep Jeff Leach, once a top foe of Ken Paxton (calling for his impeachment), reiterates that he’s supporting Paxton for Senate because he’s a Republican. “We're working through some things privately, and I'm grateful for that opportunity to do so,” Leach says.

Leach: “I'll say here this morning that that General Paxton has got to communicate more effectively with independents. I personally believe, for what it's worth, that that General Paxton needs to get on a debate stage with James Talarico, and deserve that conversation.” So far Paxton has not agreed to a debate with Talarico.
