Farah is wrong.
AAWSAP was officially an unclassified aerospace research program which ran 2008-2012.
It was NEVER an official UFO program, as Variety incorrectly reports. In fact, UFOs / UAP are no where in the AAWSAP written objectives.
In 2008, Senator Harry Reid acquired $22M and gave it to his longtime friend and campaign contributor Robert Bigelow to run AAWSAP.
Bigelow's team of paranormal enthusiasts then used the $22M on a rogue Scooby Doo adventure at a haunted ranch in Utah chasing aliens, ghosts, werewolves and naked midget monsters.
When the Pentagon found out what they were doing, they pulled the program's funding and shut it down.
The Pentagon has released several statements clarifying that the UFO / paranormal stuff was never authorized for AAWSAP and it was never a "UFO program".

Congressional UFO "witness" Dylan Borland reportedly claims he was tormented by gray demon aliens and had to "pray to Jesus" to get them to leave.
Why didn't Borland inform Congress of these Satanic space monsters while under oath during his 2025 UFO hearing? Seems like an important detail!
Interestingly, Borland appears to say that he first thought the devilish extraterrestrials were simply dreams and nightmares until his Catholic ex-girlfriend told him they were real.

Incredible investigative work by @SignalsIntelUFO reveals more damning evidence that the infamous Majestic 12 UFO documents are a hoax.
A recently located 1954 Army projector manual appears to have been used as a template for the Majestic-12 SOM1-01 Special Operations Manual, the purported manual for recovering extraterrestrial craft and biological remains.
SOM1-01 surfaced in 1994 as photographs on an anonymously mailed roll of film. Some UFO researchers, including Stanton Friedman, have argued that it is likely an authentic government document.
The Army manual, TM 11-2323, shares SOM1’s issue date, packaging artwork and references, and more. Its Air Force Technical Order number and Army printing reference each differ from SOM1’s by a single digit.
