It is the final game day for thousands of athletes and tens of thousands of cheerleaders, band members, and student section denizens, as well as dozens of coaches. Long after the Friday night lights dim, the friendships will remain, connecting communities across generations.

From updated information I received Tuesday, the newly-restructured Eastern Buckeye Conference, which will become an all-football league in 2028, is going to be renamed the Eastern Buckeye Football League beginning with that season.
It's the dawn of a new day for what's currently called the Eastern Buckeye Conf. Canton Central Catholic & Crestview will join EBC members Alliance, W. Branch, Salem & Howland in a new football-only league in 2028. My story in Tuesday's Canton Repository & Alliance Review online.

Covering Salem (8-1) at West Branch (8-1) football Friday for the Morning Journal and Salem News. This is one of the best medium-size school FB rivalries in NE Ohio. I should know, I played in it many years ago. Expect an electric atmosphere at 5,200-seat Clinton Heacock Stadium.

Fewest Points Allowed halfway through the regular season...although it's against the 640th ranked SoS, pretty impressive for @NCH_Athletics to not have allowed a point yet this season! 4 straight shutouts!
