With hundreds of billions of hard-earned taxpayer dollars lost to fraud each year, we must be vigilant in closing loopholes and recovering stolen funds. I co-sponsored the Protecting American Taxpayers Act—a bipartisan, comprehensive package that will hold fraudsters accountable, prevent improper payments and save taxpayers an estimated $240 billion. Taxpayer dollars should always serve their intended purpose, not line the pockets of criminals.
