Here are some examples of real human creativity. lol

I’m old enough to have seen firsthand what the emergence of the internet did to society in general and music in particular. The internet won the battle and nothing is the same as before. Now, I’m watching AI do the same thing all over again. We can be as anti-AI as we want to be and bitch about album covers and flyers done with it as much as we like. The sad fact is that, in just a few years, no one will remember living without it or making music or art any other way. For example: It took me years to realize that, even though I came up on music with live drums, many fans five or ten years younger than me didn’t care if the drums on the record were real or not. They never knew a world without drum machines and samplers. They either liked a song or they didn’t. There was no purity test. Today, people who seem to dislike AI the most are the ones most deeply rooted in the world that came before it. All of us old heads are like dinosaurs watching the meteor come down. In the future, the kids being born today won’t care if songs are made by AI because that will become the way the trick is done. It will be as normalized as recording in a DAW or having your songs on Spotify are now and I don’t think we can do anything to prevent it. Easy and convenient will always win. That’s just what humans want. I don’t want it to happen but I’ve seen this kind of paradigm shift before. As so many folks have told me recently, the world has moved on.

Once again, I don’t get this band or sound. Does this stuff actually move modern crowds? It sounds synthetic. I get no emotion from this bunch at all. Rock music is supposed to make people feel something, right? I guess I’m just an angry old man. lol

My mind is preoccupied with getting new music released now that my identity has been restored. I definitely have a backlog. I’m working on cover concepts right now, which is isn’t easy for me. I always flunked art class. lol Still, with all the flap over AI cover art, I want to raise my stock photo game. I’m still using Canva but selecting and editing the images myself, not prompting the machine. I hope that passes the purity test. lol I’ll go back to crayons if I have to to prove I’m human. lol

20 years ago, this was my band. Funk rock soul psychedelic jamming goodness. Paris was an amazing singer with the range to sing the whole piano. We made a great record that never came out. Lead Singer Disease killed this very promising outfit. Ego is so dangerous. This band taught me some hard lessons. Best singer I’ve ever worked with.

My music needs to become more dangerous. I tried to make people like me for too long and it still shows. Hardly anyone sounds dangerous anymore, like you had no idea what was coming next. I’ve had to review way too many bands that sounded like a beer commercial.
