I think this is my first #FluorescenceFriday. Thanks to @anida_velagic for getting into #Mitochondria. TMRE staining of mitochondria captured on a @VisiTech_UK iSIM with 120nm resolution. Got to love a two channel 50 slice z stack that cputres in 5 seconds :)

Such a pretty image from our human aortic endothelial cells (female). Nucleus in cyan (blue), strands of yellow mitochondria like ramen noodles wrapped around the nucleus. Love a #FluorescenceFriday @HFPlab @MIPS_Australia @MonashVHI @OzCvA @gemtreee

Australia cannot remain a global research powerhouse without at least some further investment from government. But it needn’t break the bank. An immediate doubling of both NHMRC and ARC budgets only amounts to an extra 0.1% of GDP.
"In addition, while the rankings show Australia has historically very high levels of research quality, current figures show a relative under-investment in research, which sends a clear red-light warning." theguardian.com/australia-ne…
