Culture usually doesn’t reveal itself in the big speech. It shows up in little moments like this. Coen Carr starts to walk away. Then he notices the chairs. He turns around and pushes them both in. Nobody had to tell him. That’s the point. Great cultures are filled with people who notice things. They clean up. They help. They take care of the little things. They do what needs to be done without being asked. None of those things will show up in the box score. But they tell you something about the person and the culture. You can talk about culture all you want. But eventually, culture becomes behavior. And the little things usually tell you what kind of team you really have.
