How is it that the male age group of 25-29 have higher death toll than the total male population of the same age group? So there should be negetive males aging from 25 to 29? Am I missing something?

The X-axis reflects percentages rather than raw counts. The chart itself overlays the "population pyramid" of the death toll onto Gaza's overall population pyramid. So what the blue bar extending beyond the gray bar in those regions reflects is overrepresentation of men in those age brackets in the death toll (blue bar) relative to their share of the population (gray bar).

So that means, if in the male age group of 25-29 the blue bar shows 8% and the total population share of this age group is 4%, the total male fatalities aged from 25-29 is 0.08*0.04=0.0032 or 0.32% of total Gazan population? 馃憤
