$PRL has announced plans to change from integer matrix math to floating-point FP8, which matches real AI inference hardware. After activation, only GPUs with FP8 tensor cores on the whitelist can mine: Hopper (H100/H200), Blackwell datacenter and pro cards, plus consumer Blackwell like the RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070 series. Older cards get cut off—RTX 4090 and everything Ampere or below (3090s, 3060s, A100s) are out. The team’s explicit goal is to favor hardware that can do actual useful AI work and squeeze out pure “useless” mining rigs, so yes, a lot of current GPU miners will be unprofitable or unable to participate.

Can we all just take a second to appreciate the fact that we are making money from hardware? No manual labor, nobody calling in sick, they just work 24/7/365 without excuses or complaints.

I have completely done a 180 on this new BTC fork. Not because I dont believe in why it was created, but because of the reaction and attacks on @TwhitNub101. @LukeDashjr is ill-informed, unprepared, and a huge hypocrite. Centralization is fine as long as he has control. What a joke. And don't even get me started with their community. Zero knowledge of the inner workings of POW. I had hoped for a better outcome. Very dissapointed on so many levels.

Owning my own company, I empathize with the maxing profits mentality...BUT... as an employer I think its only fair to keep up with the cost of inflation. This means a 3.4% raise annually no matter how good/bad the employee is. If you owned a company, what would you do?
