After leaving her home in Phoenix Way she was last seen on CCTV in the High Street. Described as 5ft 10in in height and of slim build with dark brown shoulder-length hair. Selina was wearing a brown leather jacket, blue jeans, grey suede boots, carrying a brown handbag and scarf. It is also believed she was wearing a gold wedding ring and four or five silver bracelets. The contents of Selina’s handbag were discovered on the beach near the Royal Hotel the following afternoon on 5 December. Items included a purse, mobile phone and some medication. Despite the coastguard being deployed and an extensive land and sea search performed, no other items of hers were found. Selina’s family are desperate for answers and would urge anyone with information to come forward. She had moved from her home on Saffron Lane in Leicester only a few months previously. The devoted mother and grandmother had spent the day with her daughter and grandchildren. After they left, it is alleged Anne went for a drink to a local pub, The Bell Inn. Officers were told that Anne returned to the caravan at about 20:30hrs and she was heard leaving at around 23:00hrs. These reported movements have never been corroborated. In 2012, a 62-year-old man living in Devon was arrested in connection with Anne’s disappearance. At around the same time, Lincolnshire Police received an anonymous call from a man who was traced to a phone box in Leicestershire. Based on this intelligence, underwater search teams scoured the lake at Lakeside Caravan Park, Sutton on Sea. After four days, the search team were stood down and nothing was found. He was last seen walking from Eddington Road in the direction of Fairhaven Lake. Described as white, 6ft 2in in height and of slim build, Shane has blue eyes and had short cropped hair at the time of his disappearance. The 26-year-old was reported missing on 9 May after family and friends failed to make contact with him for over a week. SATURDAY SHARE - GARY WATSON SHEARER Gary Watson Shearer was 53 years old when he went missing on 16 March 2023 from Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote, Spain. He had travelled alone from his home in Renfrew, Scotland for St Patrick’s Day celebrations that week. The alarm was raised when he failed to check in for his flight home. Described as 5ft 3in in height and of slim build. The Celtic fan has black greying hair, brown eyes and a “Gary” tattoo on his neck. He suffers from epilepsy and type 2 diabetes and walks with a distinctive limp. He was wearing a green and white Celtic FC football shirt, white shorts and white trainers at the time of his disappearance. It was established that Gary checked into his hotel before heading to Bar 67. He had left his passport, bank cards, medication and money in a safe in the apartment, taking only €70 cash with him. Sightings throughout the evening showed him in a jovial mood, mingling with a group of about six people inside the pub. An Irish man informed family that a taxi driver had refused to take Gary in his taxi from outside the bar. The witness remains extremely upset that he could not assist him in returning to his hotel. CCTV footage captured Gary asleep in a doorway near the bar at approximately 23:30hrs. The last confirmed sighting was in the early hours of the following morning at about 1:15hrs, showing him outside the Spar walking with an unknown man in the direction of San Antonio. The Shearer family has been experiencing difficulties in obtaining regular updates from the consulate, a common issue when dealing with overseas authorities. Consequently, they have sought assistance from their Local Member of Parliament, Gavin Newlands. Following the MP’s initial meeting with the family, he wrote to the Secretary of State at the Foreign Office to draw attention to the lack of correspondence between the British Consulate and Gary’s family. He also raised the matter in the House of Commons during Business Questions, urging the Leader of the House to press the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office to improve communication and provide further support to the family. Gavin Newlands MP subsequently updated the media stating that the lack of updates and information regarding the investigation in Lanzarote is deeply concerning for the family. Gary’s disappearance has left his family devastated as they search for answers. After raising his case in Parliament, he was able to obtain some information about the progress of the Spanish investigation and the steps being taken to locate Gary safely. He will continue to work with the Foreign Office to ensure the family is kept informed about developments in Lanzarote to trace Gary. The Civil Guard has subsequently released CCTV images with an appeal to locate a man seen walking with Gary on Avenida Las Playas and Avenida Italia in Puerto del Carmen, in the municipality of Tías. The man is described as a well-built man of approximately 60 or 70 years of age with a strong complexion and grey hair. He was wearing a light brown sports jacket, a white shirt and long dark trousers. The request for citizen collaboration remains as the man has not come forward of his own accord and has not been identified by others. Gary’s welfare is of utmost concern as he requires daily prescribed medication for his health conditions. His family frequently travels to the holiday island to conduct their own searches. They will continue to campaign in a bid to find answers. The Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Las Palmas Command is investigating Gary’s disappearance.
