Unpopular opinion.
I voted for Trump 3 times. I’ll still vote red in the midterms.
But for the first time in a long time, if Republicans lose Congress, so be it.
I’ve actually thought about not even writing this because I don’t want to influence anybody not to vote, or to vote blue. But anybody who knows me knows I speak what I believe to be the truth. I ain’t no fucking political influencer. I’m just a dude writing a journal for his kids, and these are my actual thoughts.
And judging by the likes and DMs on some of my other posts, there are a lot of people out there who feel like I do.
I’m not going to make believe I’m happy with everything happening just because it’s “my side.”
And I put “my side” in quotes because I’m actually a conservative. True conservatives don’t really have a side anymore. The Republican Party is filled with a bunch of spiritual liberals who act conservative. But that’s a whole other post.
I have serious questions about the fraud, manipulation and insane wealth creation happening around this administration. I want the Iran war to stop. I want inflation under control. I want AI managed better. I want someone taking a serious look at these massive data centers being built everywhere. And there’s a whole host of other problems.
Does that mean I suddenly believe in the Democrats? Absolutely not. The radical left are a bunch of freaks too.
And I don’t care about the stock market. I don’t care about my investments. I don’t care that we’re all getting richer. Yeah, that’s great.
What’s the point of getting richer if the future looks so fucking bleak?
There’s an old Greek saying: μέτρον ἄριστον. Moderation is best.
Maybe that’s what politics needs right now. Moderation. Checks and balances. Accountability.
I’ll cast my vote the way I believe. But if the country gives Trump an opposition Congress, so be it.
Because I genuinely don’t know what the hell another two years of a Trump presidency with an unchecked Congress looks like.
We didn’t get most of what we voted for. What we did get a a complete stop to wokeism, but you can make the claim that preceded Trump and why he won the popular vote.
What the hell has Congress even done? It’s all so black pilling.
This is getting out of control.
