Rewatching Ted Lasso this summer, I got to the episode where Ted has his first panic attack while everyone around him is celebrating a big win at a karaoke bar.
What should have been one of the happiest moments of the season suddenly became something completely different.
It took me back to the first time I had a panic attack.
I was 21 years old. Standing alone in a parking lot. My heart was racing, I couldn’t catch my breath, and I was absolutely convinced I was dying.
No one tells you that panic attacks don’t always come during your worst days. Sometimes they show up in the middle of ordinary moments. Sometimes they interrupt celebrations. Sometimes they come out of nowhere.
If you’ve never experienced one, it’s hard to explain. If you have, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Looking back now, I realize I wasn’t dying. I was struggling. And there is a difference.
If you’re fighting anxiety, panic attacks, or battles no one else can see, you’re not alone. Keep talking. Keep asking for help. Keep moving forward.
You don’t have to fight it by yourself.

Give him his opportunity.
Emmanuel Crawford was three years old when his parents sold him.
They lived in Ghana and they were poor enough that they could not feed him. So he was sold into the fishing trade on Lake Volta, which is where a lot of Ghana's trafficked children end up.
Here is what a three year old does out there.
He sits in a leaky wooden canoe and bails water out of it by hand, all day, so the boat does not sink.
And when the nets get caught, he goes in after them.
Lake Volta is man made. They dammed a river and flooded a forest to build it, and the trees are still down there, standing dead under the water. The nets snag on the branches, and somebody small has to dive down into water you cannot see through and pull them loose.
Children drown doing that. Regularly.
Crawford did it for two years.
He was five when a man working with a rescue organization came across his canoe out on the lake.
Crawford has described it simply.
"He felt a tug on his heart from the Lord, that this kid doesn't need to be here."
He was taken to a home in Tema, Ghana, run by a nonprofit called Touch A Life that gets children out of the trade.
And that is where a couple from Grove, Oklahoma found him. Audrey and Stan Crawford.
"When I first met my mom, I jumped onto her, I just climbed her, and we were best friends from the very beginning."
The adoption took months. Then Audrey got on a plane and brought a six year old home to a town of about 6,000 people in northeast Oklahoma, where he became the youngest of six kids.
He remembers the first day.
"I had my first hamburger that day and fries. It was heaven on Earth."
Then he grew up and started playing football.
As a senior at Grove High School he carried the ball 230 times for 2,304 yards. That is 10 yards every single time he touched it. He scored 36 rushing touchdowns, caught 19 passes for 546 more yards and seven more scores, and Grove went 13-1.
He finished his career with 6,777 rushing yards.
That is the most anyone has ever run for in Oklahoma Class 5A history. Plus 93 rushing touchdowns.
They named him the 2022-23 Gatorade Oklahoma Football Player of the Year.
And then he went to Arkansas as a preferred walk-on.
No scholarship. The best football player in the state, walking on.
He got there partly because Sam Pittman, who was the Arkansas head coach at the time, went to Grove High School himself. Crawford's high school coach texted him about the kid.
"The only campus that I felt a real connection was Arkansas. On the car ride home, I was like, 'I know where I want to be.'"
He redshirted in 2023 and has been stuck behind a crowded backfield ever since. Pittman got fired after last season.
Crawford is still on the roster in Fayetteville. Number 21.
Still waiting on his carries.
He has waited for worse.

1. The Eternal Optimist - You can't tell them shit. They are gonna tell you every year that this is the year.
2. The Burn-It-Down Fan - One three and out and they are ready to fire the coaches, the AD, the strength staff, the guy running the scoreboard, and maybe even BBQ Tusk.
3. The Historian - These folks live in 1964, 2006, 2011-2012. They have 40 plus years of collective trauma and truly should be psychologically studied and possibly medicated.
4. The Battered Hog - These folks are broken human beings. Won't predict the game score, Doesn't trust a double digit lead, won't celebrate a win even after the clock has run out. They have seen too much. Knows too much. But they still show up Saturday after Saturday.
And somehow, after all the heartbreak, all four still call the Hogs. #WOODAMNPIG #WhichOneAreYou

We don’t want to be Texass or Michigan or even LSU. We want to be Arkansas. But we expect to compete and win. No one said a thing about national championships but if IU can do it anyone can.
Would expand it to other sports, too. Arkansas wants to be great at baseball, track and so many things. You're not set up like Texas, Michigan or even Florida. Have to pick a lane.

Hunter Yurachek really told Brett McMurphy that he thinks a lack of transparency has been a mistake on their part.
This comes just a few weeks after he declines to speak at the Little Rock Touchdown Club and don't forget he hasn't done a presser in ages.
He is a liar who thinks you are incredibly stupid. He thinks you are dumb enough to buy these sad and desperate lies.
Let's not forgot he admits this lack of transparency in an article that is behind a paywall lol. The lack of awareness is truly incredible for someone in charge of such a large operation.

I understand the argument that firing Hunter Yurachek could create more instability. But at some point, “stability” becomes an excuse for accepting the same results.
Arkansas isn’t dealing with one bad Saturday or one disappointing season. This is about years of football decisions, millions of dollars invested, facilities, NIL, coaching changes and a fan base that continues to show up and write checks.
Leadership has to be accountable for outcomes.
The question shouldn’t be whether making a change creates risk. Of course it does.
The REAL question is:
How much longer is Arkansas willing to accept the results of the status quo because it’s afraid of the risk that comes with changing it?
Sometimes the bigger risk is doing absolutely nothing.
Arkansas may have a football problem. Firing athletic director Hunter Yurachek could create a bigger one for Razorbacks
