I never imagined that the woman my friends brought to my bachelor’s night would be Diame, the same woman I was planning to marry.
A week before my friend’s wedding, Diana told me she had to travel for a business engagement. I trusted her completely. We were already making plans for our own wedding, and I had no reason to doubt her.
A few days later, I traveled to attend my friend’s wedding. The groom and several of us stayed at the same hotel, and that evening, the guys organized a bachelor party.
They kept pouring drinks into my glass, laughing and reminding me that I was next in line to get married.
“Tonight, you have to enjoy yourself,” one of them joked.
I refused when they suggested bringing a woman to keep me company.
“I’m getting married. I don't want any trouble,” I told them.
But they wouldn't listen.
Without telling me, they made arrangements and brought someone to my hotel room.
There was a knock at the door.
I opened it.
And my entire world stopped.
Standing in front of me was Diana.
My fiancée.
For several seconds, neither of us spoke.
She stared at me. I stared at her.
Then her face changed.
She turned around and ran.
“Diana! Wait!”
But she was already gone.
I stood frozen in the doorway, unable to understand what had just happened.
My friends had no idea who she was. The men who made the arrangement had traveled from another state and had never met Diana before. It was also late at night, so they had never properly seen her face.
But I knew her.
She was the woman I was supposed to marry.
The woman who had told me she was traveling for business.
The woman whose wedding ring was sitting on my table.
And now she had disappeared without saying a single word.
I called Diana immediately.
Her phone was switched off.
I sent messages.
No response.
I called again.
Nothing.
By morning, Diana was still gone.
I couldn't sleep. I couldn't eat. I couldn't even look at my friends.
The bachelor party had turned into the most confusing night of my life.
Why had Diana been there?
Why had she told me she was traveling?
And why did she run the moment she saw me?
For days, I heard nothing from her.
The woman I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with had vanished.
And I was left with one terrifying question:
What secret had Diana been hiding from me?
