One day, you’ll understand that you don’t need a partner who makes you feel butterflies every day. You need someone you can sit with after a stressful day, say nothing, and still feel at home. That kind of peace is underrated.

Hmm this is deep The lady should just monitor closely and catch him red handed so the husband won't know it's from the child she knew
A woman returned from work and noticed that her 15-year-old son had been unusually quiet. When she asked what happened, he said, “Mummy, Daddy said I should never tell you this.” She laughed and asked what his father had told him. The boy replied: “Daddy said if you ever die before him, he will marry another woman immediately because he doesn’t believe in staying single.” The woman smiled and said, “That’s not the problem. What did you tell him?” The boy replied: “I told Daddy I’ll never accept another woman in this house.” She suddenly became serious. Then the boy added: “Because the woman Daddy wants to marry is already coming to this house every Friday.” Would you confront the husband immediately, or pretend you know nothing and investigate first?

One thing living outside the Lagos rush teaches you: Fast progress isn't always good progress. Sometimes taking a slower, grounded approach gives you clarity you can't buy. Most adult exhaustion isn't physical. It’s the mental load of trying to stay consistent, figure out your next move, and pretend you have it all under control simultaneously. Take a breath. You’re doing better than you think.

My aunt spent ₦1.8 million sponsoring her niece through university. She paid the school fees, accommodation and feeding because the girl’s parents were struggling. After graduation, the girl got a good job and stopped answering her aunt’s calls. Months later, the aunt saw her at a restaurant and confronted her. The girl looked her straight in the eye and said: “I appreciate what you did, but I never asked you to raise me. You chose to help me, so stop expecting repayment.” The aunt was furious. She reminded her that she had sacrificed for years just to see her graduate. Then the girl dropped the bomb: “You didn’t do it because you loved me. You did it because you wanted everyone to praise you for being a good aunt.” The aunt went home devastated. Two weeks later, she received a package from the girl. Inside was every single receipt for the money the aunt had ever spent on her. There was also a note: “Since you keep reminding me what you did for me, I calculated everything. I’ll pay you back every kobo. After that, please never contact me again.”

Communication is a game changer Most relationships are suffering from it, that leads to trust issues and the relationship start to break
It is sooo attractive when people apologize for replying late or let you know they're unable to talk to you. Good communication is just so attractive.

Building digital income sounds cool online until you’re sitting alone in your room at 1 AM trying to fix a setup that was supposed to "save you time." The leverage is real, but the unglamorous grind behind it is what keeps people out. Stop waiting until you’ve "made it" to start sharing your journey. People don’t just buy the finished product; they connect with the person figuring it out in real-time.

They are protecting their access. That's it
If someone only treats you well when they’re afraid of losing you, they’re not protecting the relationship. They’re protecting their access.

My husband came home from work and asked why dinner wasn’t ready. I told him I’d spent the whole afternoon at the hospital with our son after he fell at school and needed stitches. He went quiet for a second, then said, “I understand. But you could’ve at least texted me so I knew not to expect food.” I looked at him. “You want me to manage your expectations while I’m sitting in A&E with our child?” He shrugged. “I’m just saying. A message takes ten seconds. I’ve had a long day too.” I put my bag down. “So did I. The difference is, I was sitting beside our injured child.” He stared at me, then said: “Being at the hospital doesn’t mean you stop being my wife.” I just stood there. Because what I wanted to say next could either save this marriage or change it forever.

My younger brother called me one evening and told me something that happened at his daughter’s school. Apparently, the teacher asked every student to bring ₦2,000 for a class project. The next day, my niece came home and told her mum that she had given the money to her teacher. Her mum didn’t think much of it. A few days later, the teacher sent a message reminding parents who hadn’t paid to bring their money. Her mum checked with my niece again. She said, “Mummy, I gave it to my teacher.” So her mum went to the school to ask the teacher. The teacher said she never received any money from the girl. They called my niece and asked her where she kept the money. This girl confidently said: “I gave it to the woman at the gate.” Everybody looked at each other. They went to the security woman, and she immediately said: “Yes, she gave me money, but I thought she was buying something.” They checked the CCTV. That’s when they discovered that my niece had actually used the ₦2,000 to buy snacks from a roadside vendor before entering the school. And when her mum asked why she lied, she simply said: “I didn’t want you to be angry that I ate the school project money.” 😭 Children can really surprise you.

No one wants to admit they’re on X to make money. “I’m building my account.” “I’m here for visibility.” Lol. 😂 But what do you want to do with the visibility and growing your account? Is it not for the account to eventually pay you some $ later on? 😭 You’re spending 5–6 hours on X every day and you’re here “just for fun”? DEY PLAY. 😏 Any post you see on my page, whether it gets 100 views, 1K views, 1 million views, 2 million views, etc., is serious business for me here oooo. Every view, engagement, growth and opportunity counts. I’m not here because I’m bored, please! So, for those of us chasing money on this app, anywhere you see my post, help me push it. Like it. Comment. Repost. Engage with it. Abeg, help me run this thing. 🙏 I’m trying to leave Nigeria. 😭

Forget "butterflies" for a second. The real test of a relationship is how you both act when the day has been long, the power goes out, and nothing is going according to plan. Safe spaces aren't built on excitement. They’re built on low energy comfort. People focus so much on finding "the one" that they forget to check if they’re actually a peaceful person to be around. Self-awareness is half the work.
