Gaul is brilliant and the civil war even more so. Ilerda is one of the textbook examples of how to defeat and destroy an enemy army without having to fight a major battle, right up there with Turenne's winter campaign and Napoleon's Ulm Campaign.
My hot take of the day is that while Caesar was a good general, what he excelled at was politicking and self-marketing.
The conquest of Gaul isn't even that extraordinary by Roman standards. He's not fighting near peers. Compare to someone like Cortés and his wars are meh.

There’s a lot of vaguely BDSM-adjacent design work in Portal, such as the exerted pose-forcing jump boots that Chel is forced to wear to survive. Makes me think that the designers were sneaking stuff in a bit.
