As someone who sends $1,000 as a normal, everyday transfer—or even $2,000 if I'm feeling froggy—I never want to exist in a kink space where someone who makes minimum wage feels displaced. The idea of a "luxury" kink disgusts me to my core.
There is a difference between setting your own boundaries and prices—especially as a woman, BIPOC individual, or transmasculine person who is regularly used, abused, and fetishized. You are not obligated to care about those who cannot meet your standards. You are not obligated to perform for your oppressor.
Where you will always lose me is when you dictate that an entire class of people does not belong in your hobby. You disgustingly pass off your classism as concern for their well-being: "I'm ostracizing you because you can't afford to hang out with us."
Do not for a second think that I am on your side just because I meet your price point. Do not parade me around as a shining example for "poor people" to get more money to send. Do not use me to shame others who live in conditions that 50 dollars is a lot of money. Don't even speak my name..
