Jesus taught Sola Scriptura. Scripture teaches Sola Scriptura. We should listen to both. While rebuking the Sadducees, Jesus quoted Scripture: Matthew 22:31-32 “And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God: ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not God of the dead, but of the living.” This is important because He not only affirms that Scripture is God-breathed, but that they were also held accountable for what was written centuries earlier, as if it was spoken directly to them. James White paired this verse with 2 Peter 1:21 and 2 Timothy 3:16 to demonstrate that Scripture truly is God’s own Words. This makes it binding. Scripture never teaches any other mechanism by which we are to be bound in the faith to doctrines outside of what is prescribed in Scripture itself. There is nothing equal to God’s speech. We should hold to Scripture just like Jesus does.

Luke 10:16 — Jesus is speaking to the 72 He was sending out on a specific mission to spread the Gospel. They were temporary representatives for that task — this wasn't creating an ongoing, self-perpetuating office that continues to speak with equal authority to Scripture for all time. Refutation denied. Context is key.

Says who? You? That's just self-interpretation. Why should I value how you interpret that over anyone else?

Exactly.. and to decide if he’s right you should be a ‘Berean’ and check the Scriptures to see if he’s right (Acts 17:11), like they did with Paul and his teachings.. even called ‘noble’ for doing so.

So his interpretation is subject to my interpretation? I am the authority? And then someone else comes along to check on me and THEY become the authority. And on and on it goes. Do you not see the problem? 😂
