Sonic wasn't being stoic he was letting Tails hit him and take his anger out on him. Sonic literally was the BULLET that killed his girlfriend. To make things worse all sonic could bring back was a seed!!
If I were Tails I would slap sonic for even THINKING of hugging me!!
Fucking hated how Tails tragically had to shoot his first substantial crush into oblivion, and Sonic just stands there looking pissed
One of the few times Sonic staying stoic genuinely pissed me off. That's your little brother, my man. Your aura would be cooler by embracing him.

I think they should bring back Amy chasing sonic with her hammer again. Just make it so that sonic tries ragebait her and that he enjoys the thrill of running from a girl who has a massive hammer. But this is just my personal take.

The way he's drawn here makes his words very condescending too, as if he thinks he's much superior.
ALT - During Sonic and Surge's fight, Sonic kicks her off guard - Surge tells her to end her already - Sonic refuses because he wants to give her a chance to rebound - Surge doesn't understand this - Sonic explains his reasoning here
I can't lie, I don't necessarily find this too jarring. Maybe the wording and the art can be more accurate to Sonic but I can't say I find anything incredibly odd about this.
