Out of curiosity do you look at number of viewers to see if reboots are successful or not?
Considering the competition are YouTube and TikTok as cynical old nerd I don't see many reboots doing big numbers.
Personally, I think the designs look fine, but I have some reservations with the trains being voiced by kids. I just feel like adult voices fit them better, like in the original series.
