There’s a full Moon rising. The Harvest Moon is the full Moon that occurs closest to the fall equinox. This year, it's on Saturday, Sept. 26. As the Harvest Moon rises in the east shortly after sunset, Saturn will appear nearby. Take a moment to look up and enjoy the view.

Stuck the landing! Three years ago today, the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft released a sample capsule at the edge of Earth’s atmosphere to land perfectly upright in the Utah desert. The capsule held a record amount of pristinely captured rocks and dust from asteroid Bennu. Scientists have studied the extraterrestrial sample, learning it contains all the ingredients key to life.

Future Moonquakes, meet your first listening station. 🫨 Trevor Graff, the Artemis Science Team Hardware and Testing Lead, practices deploying a mockup of the Lunar Environment Monitoring Station here at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. Using the Active Response Gravity Offload System, which simulates the lighter gravity astronauts will experience on the Moon, the team can rehearse how future crews will set up this compact, autonomous seismometer. Designed to track “Moonquakes” and vibrations in the lunar ground over long periods, the station will help scientists better understand the environment at the Moon’s South Pole, a key region for upcoming @NASAArtemis missions.

Here are 4 nights cycles from Dragon's port window, stitched together by @bot, no changes to underlying photos, taken by Nikon Z9, 15s exposure, ISO 800, 14mm lens (1.4 aperture). You can see satellites dancing in the center, likely Starlink.

Colors at night are beautiful when looking at Earth at night. Here you can see blues from the squid boats, the bright lights of cities, storms, and the milkyway, stars, and galaxies rising in the sky. This was shot from the Dragon forward window with 3 second exposures and stitched together into a timelapse. That's what it looks like through the window; just, a little slower.
