On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, NBWA remembers the lives lost and forever changed that day and honors the heroes who risked their lives to save others.
Twenty-five years ago today, as America's beer wholesalers gathered at NBWA's Annual Convention, Coors Brewing Company CEO Pete Coors took the stage to deliver a different address than he had planned.
“We live in a great country,” he told the stunned crowd. “Freedom to speak your mind, freedom to enjoy prosperity and to do the job you want. But freedom isn’t free. Sometimes, we may forget that. Maybe today is an awakening of sorts, but it sure is a tough lesson.”
Pete’s words remain true today as NBWA and its members pause to remember those we lost 25 years ago.
