Jose Delgado (-118) vs Austin Bashi (-102) is an incredible fight.
Two of the best prospects from Season 8 of DWCS.
I lean Delgado, simply based on Bashi’s struggles w/ C-Rod, but could go either way. Excited to see how Delgado handles the grappling.

The struggles Bashi faced v Crod won’t translate here at all. C-rod built a niche for himself defeating debuting wrestlers, Delgado isn’t the same level of sprawl & brawl . Watch his mecate fight

My write up from the C-Rod v Bashi fight:
“Fed to the wolves immediately in his debut, getting Rodriguez. Don’t want to entirely shit on the kid as I view him, still, as one of the best prospects at 145. That said, displayed a game plan that is clearly one dimensional and showed big signs of cardio issues. I’m not going to read too much into these yet, as the difficulty surrounding a match up in C-Rod is massive, never mind in the debut. Rodriguez was easily able to scramble out of his grappling positions throughout the first round and, anytime the fight was a distance, got picked away by the clean striking of Rodriguez who felt zero threat on the feet. Did well to respond throughout the second round, securing it on all three judges scorecards, by finally having his way in the grappling - but showed signs of big cardio issues towards the end of the round. At the start of the third, he realistically had nothing left although was still trying to shoot for takedowns. These were easily defended by Rodriguez, who had the most convincing round of the fight and landed big damage in the striking. Ultimately dropped a 29-28 x3 UD over top competition who was coming off beating some massive prospects (UFC Fight Night: Dern v Ribas 2) ”
Cardio problems are an issue in any fight. These were caused by C-Rod’s ability to scramble, I get it, but if Delgado can push a pace I definitely lean him

I’m telling you, watch the fight v Chris Mecate and see how much control time Delgado gives up there, as he scrambles only to get his back taken/ flattened out again. Rinse & repeat for bashi. Delgado mixes tools well, but his use of kicks & knees will cost him here
