It pains me to type this… RIP to a truly amazing guy, my IRL homie @G_funk14. It’s hard to find people as genuine as him. He truly believed blockchain and crypto will change the world for the better and he loved the people within the space, especially the @SOLANADEADS community. We came into crypto together 6 years ago and both developed the same passion for crypto/blockchain. The accounts on X weren’t just accounts to him. He actually thought about the person behind the profile. When he talked to you, replied to you, or DM'd you, there was a real person on the other side to him. It wasn't about hitting a reply count goal. In high school and college, he was a very talented golfer and basketball player. He was a very social guy IRL too. He didn't hesitate to ever pick up his phone and reach out. He was also an amazing poker player. He could calculate the odds of just about any hand winning in his head, on the spot. He understood the game down to a science and was always thinking a few steps ahead. He interacted with many of you often and I know he left his mark. If you have a story about our friend @G_funk14, or want to comment how he made you feel, please do so. I will personally show his family the impact he made on people. The @SOLANADEADS also decided we’re going to create a monthly community award in his honor: The Gfunk Legacy Award It’ll go to someone in the community who goes above and beyond; not just for the project, but for the people around them - just like he did. I think that represents him pretty damn well. Lastly, a few people I've told have asked if there’s a way to donate something to his family. Please don’t feel like you need to. Sharing a story or memory about him honestly means a lot more than anything.
