Governor Hyacinth Alia (@HyacinthAlia) has outlined major policy initiatives aimed at revitalizing the state’s education, industrial, and agricultural sectors during a town hall meeting in the Oju/Obi Federal Constituency.
As part of efforts to strengthen human capital development, the administration plans to upgrade the College of Education (COE), Oju, into a standard higher institution under a new nomenclature. The Governor also assured residents of the timely completion of the Oju-Awajir Road alongside other priority infrastructure projects across the state.
To boost subnational industrialization, technical assessments have been concluded to revive the long-abandoned Igumale Cement Factory in Enone. Governor Alia encouraged residents to embrace large-scale agriculture, noting that strategic state investments in the Food Basket Brewery, Fruit Juice Company, and Taraku Mills will secure ready off-taker markets and significantly reduce post-harvest losses.
Addressing security and land governance, the Governor reiterated that no Benue land will be allocated for ranching, while expressing appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving a new Army Division in Makurdi to enhance regional security.
Together, these initiatives reflect the administration’s broader commitment to positioning Benue for sustainable growth by investing in its people, strengthening productive sectors, expanding infrastructure, and creating an enabling environment for investment and economic opportunity across the state.
