#WATCH | Shanghai, China | WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 | Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Arunkumar Pillai says, "We built on what we achieved last year. When we went to Lyon last time, we had fairly good success. The moment the team came back, we started thinking about what we could do next and how we could take it to the next level. And I think over this year’s cycle, first and foremost, 3.6 lakh people registered for WorldSkills competitions across the country. That itself is a huge step forward. It signifies the fact that there is much greater awareness about WorldSkills across the country and highlights the role played by state institutions and NSDC in promoting WorldSkills. From the 3.65 lakh registrations, we had the state-level competitions, followed by the regional and then the national competitions. After that, many of the students also participated in bilateral skill competitions with different countries. Eventually, we had 63 or 70 competitors competing across 63 skills. I think we have done a great job of identifying and showcasing the talent in the country...This has been the largest participation so far..." (24.09)

Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC), India and VTCT Skills, United Kingdom have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen international cooperation in the Beauty & Wellness sector.
