Strong winds, heavy rain and coastal flooding will begin impacting parts of New York later today, with New York City, Long Island and the Hudson Valley facing the greatest risk. Stay inside if you can, keep an eye on your local forecast, and text your county or borough to 333-111 for updates.

Nor'easter update for NYC: coastal flooding could reach minor to locally moderate levels during high tides Thursday evening through Saturday, largely around Jamaica Bay. Tonight's high tide could also bring minor flooding there. 🗺️ The storm is still tracking north well offshore, and the heaviest rain is forecast to stay east of NYC over southeastern New England. For the city, that means gusty winds, weekend rain, and high-tide flooding near the shore. 💨 Gusts will build through the week: 25 to 35 mph today and Thursday, 30 to 45 mph Friday, and 30 to 40 mph Saturday. Secure loose items on balconies, rooftops, and patios, and keep your phone charged. 🌧️ Today and Thursday stay dry. Rain could start as early as late Friday evening, with a 45% to 60% chance of light to briefly moderate rain through the weekend.
