Reflecting on two exciting weeks on the road with Team @ButterflyNetInc.
2 weeks ago, we were in San Francisco hosting our first Butterfly Embedded™ community event, the BCI Innovation Summit. Mind blown.
A big thank you to Max Hodak @ScienceCorp_ for kicking us off. I had a great time chatting about where this field is headed.
The energy and potential were palpable. I was struck by just how broad the BCI category really is. We talked about the evolution from restoration to enhancement: opportunities like restoring sight or motor function for people living with paralysis, and looking ahead to how technology could enhance the brain and human capabilities. The breadth of companies working across this space is incredible, from complex clinical applications to technologies that could one day reach the everyday consumer.
This is what excites me about Butterfly Embedded. BCI is one opportunity, but there are so many others. Pharma. Robotics. Therapeutics. I hope this was the first of many gatherings bringing communities together around what’s possible with ultrasound.
Then last week, I had the pleasure of hosting our senior leaders in Nashville for our annual meeting. Getting this team together is always a boost of energy. We have so much talent and so much opportunity ahead.
The time is now. It’s in our hands. This team is in go mode.

As the access to pain specialists become increasingly difficult along with increasing comorbidities more and more people come to ED in pain crisis and this is where we can help them

Another win for regional analgesia today.
Patient coming in acute pain crisis due to neuropathic pain in the arm. None of the IV option were working so gave a cervical ESP and patient was pain free.
Uptitrated neuromodulators and then made a plan to treat underlying cause

Emergency Medicine is built on quick decision-making with incomplete information.
EM physicians manage undifferentiated patients, balance risk, revisit decisions as new data comes in, and have to make calls without clear consensus. Much of the most valuable learning happens after the shift, when there’s finally time to debrief with colleagues and compare how others would have approached the same case.
