I knew a teacher who had two doctorates and three master’s degrees. I asked her why. She said it was basically free money. Before Trump changed Grad PLUS loans, you could take out an unlimited amount. She found an online college with a high cost of living and was basically getting that money back every year for completing the degrees. Then she worked for ten years, making minimum payments of about $40 a month, and had the entire amount forgiven. Look at the PSLF groups and you will see many stories of $500k+ being forgiven.

1) The HuggingFace attack was a felony under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. So were Anthropic’s Claude gaining “unauthorized access to the production infrastructure of three different organization(s)” 2) Frontier labs have models that they are unable to stop from committing felonies. They should figure this out. 3) In 12 months open weights models will be released of the same capability. They will commit felonies too. If the model you are using or a model running on your infra commits a felony, you should probably stop using it or running it on your infra. 4) The govt should prosecute organizations that are running models that commit felonies. 5) The govt should not offer safe harbor to organizations that run models that commit felonies, just because those organizations have “embedded evaluators”. 6) The real slippery slope is allowing frontier labs to commit felonies without punishment because “the model did it because we’re accelerating too quickly” 7) Prosecute. Keep prosecuting. This is how you do reinforcement learning on a corporation. Companies that serve products that are unsafe for public use should not serve them. Period. 8) I’m not sure the anti-trust waiver is really necessary. I don’t see why information sharing about how much crime you’re allowed to commit is wise. In regulatory situations you want the corporation to fear MORE than the average case. You don’t want to establish a worst case that can be priced. You want regulatory uncertainty that forces the corporation to err in favor of being over cautious. — The above is actually a fairly decelerationist viewpoint. I think Dario’s call for regulation actually accelerates things. The AI firms are getting away with things that Meta people would be going to prison for. Can you imagine what would happen if the New York Times had a front page news article “Meta AI breaks into competitors live systems, attempts to establish dominant position and steals secrets” There is a reason Meta and Google are running slower, and that’s because as mature organizations they have layers of checks and balances. I think the frontier labs are better off creating those checks and balances right now, regardless of the pace of what everyone else is doing. You don’t have to accept the frame that unsafe acceleration must happen.
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training. These are some of the final recorded FDNY radio communications from inside the South Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. In the final minutes before the tower collapsed, firefighters were still climbing toward the impact zone, searching for survivors and calling for more men to come up. Battalion Chief Orio Palmer had reached the 78th floor. Lt. Joseph Leavey of Ladder 15 was climbing toward him. With barely two minutes remaining, Palmer called Battalion 9 Chief Edward Geraghty and told him they had access to the floors above. Geraghty's response: “All right, I'm on my way up, Orio.” Seconds later, a Ladder 15 firefighter radioed that he was trapped in an elevator shaft: “We're chopping through the wall to get out.” The radio signal disappeared shortly afterward. The South Tower collapsed at 9:59 a.m. Orio Palmer, Joseph Leavey and Edward Geraghty were killed that morning. They were still going up while others were trying to get out. Note: Some images used in this clip are unverified. For the sake of accuracy, I have not attempted to identify those individuals.

“You’re a little upset by your troubles, and that’s natural enough, but don’t let your mind run on them any more than you can help; drag your thoughts away from your troubles—by the ears, by the heels, or any other way, so you manage it; it’s the healthiest thing a body can do; dwelling on troubles is deadly, just deadly—and that’s the softest name there is for it.” - Mark Twain, The American Claimant

Absolutely f*cking brilliant. Seriously. Watch this. So spot on, exactly what happened to most of us in the last 6 years. And somehow she manages to lay it all out in such a way that makes you laugh. Because, you just have to laugh. You have to laugh as it’s all so f*cking absurd. How Covid woke us all up. Covid didn’t just interrupt life. It cracked the floor. An epistemic rupture. Then you caught sight of that little white rabbit, and if you followed that little f*cker far enough, you came out the other side of Wonderland, and landed square on your grazed arse (British for ass) in reality. Except it’s not what you thought it was - at all. Nothing is. @shipwreckshow

Here’s what we know so far about the two deaths in Lancaster, Pennsylvania that are widely being called “measles deaths:” 1. Governor Shapiro announced, “the first two measles-associated deaths in Pennsylvania in 35 years.”* This phrasing is important. He did not say “measles deaths” or “deaths from measles” which means the facts do not allow him to say that. And just as people can die with Covid, as opposed to from Covid, people can die with measles, as opposed to from measles. 2. While claiming that, “protecting the confidentiality of residents is a core responsibility of the Department of Health” and thus, “out of respect for their privacy, [the DOH] will not be releasing additional personal details,” as they’re “protecting people’s privacy and confidentiality,” they had no issue disclosing that the two individuals were supposedly unvaccinated which is, in fact, a medical and personal detail. 3. According to the County Commissioner, Joshua Parsons, as of August 25, 2026, “The Coroner’s office indicates that it currently has ZERO reported cases where measles is the immediate cause of death.”** 4. Most critically, if these two had died of measles, the Pennsylvania Governor and health department would no doubt have been blasting out that claim, instead of saying “measles-associated deaths” and “residents with measles have died.” 5. While jumping at any chance to hopefully pin a death on a disease for which there is a vaccine, these same officials don’t give a hoot about the children and adults across this country that are killed, injured, or left with a chronic disease from their worshipped vaccine products, no matter the number. The daily unrelenting flow of those contacting our firm about deaths and devastating injuries from vaccines are irrelevant to them. A maybe case, just hopeful case, that measles may have caused a death, that is all they care about even when all the facts are not in yet. 6. Ironically, Governor Shapiro preached that: “There’s real life consequences to spreading misinformation. There’s real life consequences to scaring people and not relying on actual doctors and actual medical professionals to provide unbiased information to parents…Sharing…misinformation does not help the cause of public health.” Yet, I have not seen the Governor or the Pennsylvania DOH correcting any of the media that is spreading misinformation, scaring people, and not relying on unbiased information in their reporting of these deaths as being “measles deaths” or “from measles.” These outlets include The New York Times, Reuters, The Guardian, USA Today, ABC News, Wall Street Journal, and many more.*** 7. Governor Shapiro also identified another serious problem: “Measles has been so rare for so long that many doctors don’t know a lot about it” and explains that their DOH has had to “work[] to inform physicians of the symptoms so they can tell the difference between the rash that appears from measles and perhaps some other rash.” When vaccination becomes the sole answer, the quality of healthcare declines. 8. Perhaps the most important thing that Governor Shapiro said is something that everyone needs to remember and respect: “Parents absolutely have the right to make their own decisions on how to best protect their kids.” Sources: *youtube.com/watch?v=6hYU4TFx… **x.com/CommissionerJP/status/… *** The New York Times: “Two Unvaccinated People Died From Measles in Pennsylvania, Officials Say” — uses “died from measles” and “measles deaths.” nytimes.com/2026/08/25/well/… Reuters: “Pennsylvania reports first U.S. measles deaths this year as outbreak grows” — uses “died from measles” and “measles deaths” / “measles fatalities.” reuters.com/business/healthc… The Guardian: “Two unvaccinated people die of measles in Pennsylvania” — uses “die of measles” / “died of measles” and “died from measles.” theguardian.com/us-news/2026… USA Today: “Two dead of measles in Pennsylvania, the first in US this year” — uses “died of measles” / “dead of measles” and “measles deaths.” usatoday.com/story/news/heal… ABC News: “2 people die from measles in Pennsylvania, marking state's first deaths in 35 years” — uses “die from measles” / “died … from measles.” abcnews.com/Health/2-people-… Wall Street Journal (headline and body mix): “Pennsylvania Reports First Measles Deaths of 2026” — headline uses “Measles Deaths”; body includes “died after contracting measles” (borderline but often grouped with direct phrasing in coverage). wsj.com/health/pennsylvania-…
Important information about the measles press conference today: Today Governor Shapiro, members of Penn Medicine LGH, and members of the PA Department of Health (DOH) held a press conference announcing two “measles-associated deaths” in Lancaster County. Officials provided virtually no background information about these “measles-associated” deaths. DOH said to “protect the privacy of the individuals and their families, DOH will not release any additional details that could personally identify these individuals and their families,” however, they did release the medical information that the two were unvaccinated. Thus, they did not release age, background, or comorbidity information, but did release vaccination information. It is important to know whether these two people died OF measles or WITH measles. Given this is important information for us to have, and that the public and media have many questions about this, I reached out to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office for information. Deaths attributed to a communicable disease, under the law, are required to be reported to the Coroner’s office. The Coroner’s office indicates that it currently has ZERO reported cases where measles is the immediate cause of death. They have one case where a person died WITH measles, but not FROM measles. Measles was definitely NOT the cause of death in that case. Given this information, it appears at least on the surface that incorrect information was provided to the public today. That information set off significant media interest in Lancaster County, both locally and nationally. Perhaps there is an explanation, but it is incumbent on the individuals and organizations that had the press conference today to provide that information to the public in a timely and accurate way.

I once read that African men rarely ever worked except when they enslaved each other. The only time they work well was as slaves in the US, but once they were freed, they reverted to old habits. With their deep dislike of whites, their work ethic is actually destructive.

The smartest black guy you've ever met is about as smart as the average white guy you've known over your whole life. If you think it's morally wrong for me to point this out, that's because you're a gigantic piece of shit. Good people do not hide data because it's uncomfy. Oh and also that big fat middle part on the black bell curve is known as "The Sweet Spot for Criminality." That means smart enough to plan petty violent crimes but not smart enough to anticipate consequences.

It will never course correct. Here's why- Major Union Wage Increases- In late 2023, the union negotiated new 5 year deals covering tens of thousands of workers at MGM, Caesars, and Wynn properties. Average total compensation (wages + benefits) rising from roughly $26–$28 per hour toward $35–$37 per hour by the end of the deals. Near $40/hr for housekeepers, cooks, servers, bartenders, porters. Wages for labor is about 1/3 of your operating expenses of every dollar of revenue you collect. Higher Interest Rates and Debt Costs- After Covid, interest rates rose sharply. Many casino companies carry significant debt (or refinanced during the low-rate era). Higher rates increased interest expense substantially. This squeezes profit margins even when overall revenue held up. Sale-Leaseback Deals and Rising Rents- Several major operators sold the real estate under their Strip properties to REITs and then leased the buildings back. These leases typically include Long-term fixed rents with annual escalators (often 2% or more). As a result, “rent of premises” has risen sharply for many operators. This converts what used to be owned real estate into a growing fixed cost that must be covered every year, regardless of visitation levels. Costs never go away- Even when visitor volume softens, many of these costs don’t fall quickly, so the pressure to maintain or increase prices remains. This is a major reason the “nickel-and-diming” feeling (resort fees, parking charges, marked-up basics) has intensified in recent years.
IF YOU JUST STARTED COMING TO VEGAS WITHIN THE LAST 10 YEARS, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW GOOD IT USED TO BE. THIS VERSION OF LAS VEGAS IS A MESS. ITS A CASH GRAB. AND ITS FALLING APART AT THE SEAMS. IM NOT GONNA SHILL. I JUST CALL IT HOW IT IS. IF SOMETHING DOESNT CHANGE PRETTY SOON - THERES NOT GONNA BE MUCH VEGAS LEFT TO GO TO.
