Today, my thoughts are with Rhiannon Whyte’s mum and everyone who loved her. On 20 October 2024, Rhiannon was brutally attacked as she made her way home from work. She was just 27 years old. Three days later, she lost her life. Think about that for a moment. A young woman going about her everyday life, finishing work and making her way home, never knowing she would never make it home to the people who loved her. Behind every headline is a family left to live with unimaginable pain. A mum who has to face every day without her daughter. Birthdays, Christmases and all the little moments that should have been shared, but never will be. Rhiannon was someone’s daughter, someone’s mum someone’s friend and a young woman with her whole life ahead of her. No words can undo what happened, and no mother should ever have to endure the pain of losing her child in such horrific circumstances. Today, I want Rhiannon’s name to be remembered, and I want her mum to know that she and her beautiful daughter are in all of our thoughts. Rhiannon will never be just another headline. She will never be forgotten. ❤️ @siobhan1437154

THE CAMERA ANGLES DESERVE AN AWARD 😂 So this was the “huge crowd” useless media tried to sell us? The tight shots, loud cheering and carefully framed footage made it appear as though the streets were overflowing. Then the wide aerial view arrived and exposed the entire production: a modest group squeezed behind one short stretch of barriers, surrounded by cameras, security and empty road. They can crop the picture, amplify the noise and avoid showing the empty spaces—but they cannot create genuine public enthusiasm where it does not exist. This was less of a triumphant royal return and more of a carefully produced television illusion. Never trust the close-up when the wide shot is available. The camera angles were working harder than Harry and Meghan. 😂 what a shame #HarryAndMeghan #MeghanMarkle #PrinceHarry #Sussexes

I couldn't watch all of @TuckerCarlson's interview with @Jacob_Rees_Mogg - largely because Mogg was given so much opportunity to spout his well-worn anti-Russian (and pro-war) propaganda. Carlson made no effort to correct much of the heavily rehearsed nonsense - particularly near the start of the interview when Mogg made the spectacular claim that Russia's economic performance was nowhere near the UK's stellar achievements. This blatant hypocrisy could have been called out. The only conclusion one could take from this is that Rees-Mogg has been selected for star treatment and that Carlson's 'interrogation' was more of a publicity stunt for a politician who failed to win a mandate in 2024 - seeing his vote collapse. Rees-Mogg co-founded Somerset Capital Management (SCM) in 2007 and was fully involved in the firm's overarching strategy until 2019. SCM targeted emerging market assets - including Russian equities - from its early years. When questioned about the firm's £217 million exposure to Russia, Rees-Mogg argued that it would be "quite improper" and risk legal action from clients if he allowed his personal political viewpoints to dictate the portfolio managers' stock selections. However, Somerset Capital Management built up its main Russian investments across a timeline primarily spanning from 2012 to 2018 i.e. when Rees-Mogg remained a part-time adviser to the firm (until 2019). For example, SCM first purchased shares in the Russian internet giant Yandex in early 2015 while Rees-Mogg was serving as a formal adviser to the company. Indeed, because Rees-Mogg was an advisor to the firm (as a Partner) he was paid £14,000 to £15,000 per month for his advisory services. SCM's largest and most controversial Russian holding was in the state-owned lender Sberbank. The firm took advantage of massive institutional stake sales in Russia - such as Sberbank's major 2012 share privatization - to aggressively build out its exposure. By early 2018, SCM held a peak investment of roughly £60 million to £85 million (representing a 4.1% stake) in the bank. So isn't it odd that Rees-Mogg was an active advisor to a firm so heavily invested in Russia (as a lucrative emerging market) when he advocates that we prepare for war against a nation in which he was actively investing?

The Bible told us where Noah's Ark landed. 4,000 years later, they're drilling right there. Genesis 8:4: "The ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat." This week, scientists started drilling into a 515-foot, boat-shaped formation in the mountains of Ararat in eastern Turkey. Radar scans show angular walls, a central corridor, and three levels underground. Genesis 6:16 says the ark had three decks. The right place. The right shape. The right size. The right number of decks. Skeptics said the Hittites never existed, until their capital was dug up. They said Pontius Pilate was a legend, until his name turned up carved in stone. They said King David was a myth, until an ancient inscription named "the house of David." Every time, the ground ends up agreeing with the Bible. The Ark was real. The Flood was real. God's Word was always true.
