You can't just pray to "the universe." Something else will answer that prayer. God cares about names.

"To understand a Bible text takes an act of the Holy Spirit equal to the act that inspired the text in the first place." (A.W. Tozer) That's a staggering statement. #straightbible #awtozer #holyspirit #1corinthians2

Every need is a call to prayer. Frequently the burden or concern in the spirit is for prayer. Whenever there is a prayer burden we should immediately inquire of the Lord: ‘O God, what do You want me to pray for?’ A burden may be very faint at the beginning, but we must be faithful to it. If we are faithful to do this repeatedly before the Lord, God will continue to dispense burdens to us one after another. Burden is the secret of prayer. If a person does not feel within him a burden to pray for a particular matter, he can hardly succeed in prayer. The burden imparted by God is lifted once we have prayed, but the heaviness from the enemy cannot be raised unless we fight and resist in prayer. All spiritual prayers have their source in God. God makes known to us what we ought to pray by unfolding to us the need and by giving that need as a burden in our intuitive spirit. Only an intuitive burden can constitute our call to pray. Negligence in prayer withers the inner man. Nothing can be substitute for it, not even Christian work. Prayer is the acid test of the inner man’s strength. A strong spirit is capable of praying much and praying with all perseverance until the answer comes. When the burden lifts, the prayer is complete. -Watchman Nee

Athanasius: “Let NOBODY beyond you know the place of my burial.” Actual history of Christianity: “Scratch that, Athanasius. We’re gonna need to move your body at least thrice and extract more relics every time we do.”
Athanasius records that Anthony the Great, the revered Desert Father, condemned practices like this, asking to be buried somewhere hidden so this wouldn't be done. This isn't patristic, if you want to do talismanic woo woo go play D&D or something.

It's taken me so very long to try to understand why Milton calls Shakespeare Satan's henchman, Death, under a pile of symbolic plausible deniability, but this island reading list provides a clue: if you bring Shakespeare, you're bringing a snake to the island. Then again, God himself thought it meet to let the snake in, perhaps because his son so loved freedom.

We can learn a lot from the house church movement in China, that’s a real revival, not the commercialized Christianity we are sold as trendy here which is nothing more than rebranded idolatry.

A major part of my earthly mission is to dismantle ALL religion. The only ones who ever fight back against this mission are those still programmed by religion itself - I say this often because it's the truth: God did not create religion. Religion was created by man under the influence of darkness. Here's the simplest way to see it: If religion were truly from God, it would reflect God's nature-perfect, w/out division, greed, deception, manipulation, or sin. Instead, religion divides, controls, and deceives. Relationship with God sets people free. I'm not here to argue. I'm here to shine light

Make it a habit to practice gratitude and cultivating a positive mindset when times are good bc when times aren’t good, it’s not as easy to be thankful. Philippians 4:11 “Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.”
