York is where my wife and I studied in undergrad. Our time there helped us both get the skills we’d later used to become accountants. It’s much tougher now for young people today to get a good paying job after school - and that’s not okay. We need a youth employment strategy in Ontario, so young people can build their futures here. Last night as Jewish Ontarians gathered for Kol Nidre in Belleville - the opening of the holiest day in the Jewish year - shots came through the window of their synagogue. As a person of faith, words cannot properly describe the shock, horror and anger I feel and how heartbreaking it is knowing people feel unsafe to practice their religion, especially around such an important holiday. I am immensely grateful for the bravery of our police officers who intervened to stop this heinous act and I wish the injured officer a speedy recovery. Antisemitism is not new, but it is growing and becoming more brazen. Synagogues, Jewish schools, and now the holiest day of the year. G'mar Chatima Tova. You are not alone.

In Windsor, I heard directly from students and families about the future they want for Ontario. When the government isn’t holding up its end of the deal, it’s time for change. With your help, I’m ready to build an Ontario that leads again.

My story is like so many others across Ontario. My parents worked hard, played by the rules, and were able to get a good job and earn a living wage to take care of their family. That's how the Ontario deal is supposed to work -- but right now that deal is broken. Too many are struggling, and we need to change that. I'm ready to grow our economy, create new jobs, and build an Ontario families can afford. It's time for Ontario to lead again. Let's get to work.
