Who’s the biggest star to come out of SNL? I know a lot of you would say Eddie Murphy, but as far as longevity and consistency, I think Adam Sandler has had the biggest career of any of them. The dude hasn’t stopped for 30 years. Love or hate the newer stuff, gotta respect the work ethic.

Jerry Lewis is the reason films do video playback. When he was starring and directing his movies, he wanted to make sure the physical comedy was captured to his liking so they designed a small video camera to shoot the same angle so he could watch each take back before moving on.

My favorite Gene Hackman story is that to play Lex Luthor in Superman, he refused to shave his mustache, so director Richard Donner wore a fake mustache and told him if he shaved his, the Donner would too. After Hackman complied, Donner peeled off his fake mustache and they got to filming.

Best movie about magic/magicians? I vote The Prestige. But I know my Burt Wonderstone stans are out there.

This is a great example of how SNL was a cultural monolith. This parody of Sportscenter's Stuart Scott's catchphrases actually led to Sportcenter adopting "Sweet sassy molassy" as a real catchphrase. In '99, if you were into sports, you couldn't avoid it. Even Scott in his memoir noted after the sketch became a big hit that "Wow, I guess I am this thing called a “celebrity.” He even ran into Ray Romano at a golf tournament who was quick to apologize and exclaim “You know, I didn't write that thing.”

The cast was breaking so much during dress rehearsal that Lorne Michaels told Will Forte to do less dancing so that the sketch wouldn't completely fall apart. It didn't matter, you can see each actor, one by one, fail to hold it together. That's the power of Will Forte.

The character MIMI on the Drew Carey Show was only suppose to be in the pilot, but once they edited it, the showrunner saw how many laughs she got and decided to keep her around for 13 more episodes. That went so well that she ended up appearing in all 233 episodes of the series.

The stunt work in the JOHN WICK series is so breathtakingly impressive. After John Wick 4, Keanu gifted his stunt team personalized $10,000 Rolex Submariners. Each watch was engraved with "The John Wick Five" referring to the four stuntmen and Keanu himself.

This SNL sketch marked the first collaboration between Will Ferrell and writer Adam McKay. They would go on to make tons of movies and TV together including Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Step Brothers, and The Other Guys. I remember being SHOCKED the first time I saw this. But you can clearly see the Anchorman germ started to gestate.

Possibly my favorite Steve Martin bit on Letterman. It starts absurd and just gets crazier from there. Early Letterman was just on a whole different plane of existence.

The first time they tried this sketch it bombed. But PHIL HARTMAN was determined to do it again. This was the second sketch with this character and it killed on the night. Just shows that Hartman's absolute commitment to the bit can win over any crowd.

Clint Eastwood reportedly agreed to do his cameo on the condition that Spielberg would do one too. So Spielberg, an executive producer on the movie, went to set and filmed himself as one of the faces Bill Pullman transforms into. After they cut, Spielberg pulled the director aside and politely told him; "This isn't going in."

Before she was famous, ELLIE KEMPER was an intern for Conan O'Brien and played maybe the grossest character I have ever seen. And for Conan's Late Night, that's saying something.

The editor of FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE decided to prank the movie execs while screening an early cut of the film. He spliced in an explosion during the Q scene and immediately cut to credits. Solid gag. One of my favorite Bond movies.
